HTC Inspire 4G - Problem with 1.8GHz overclocking kernel

Hello. First off, thank you guys for the awesome work you do. This is my first Android phone and if the stock user experience didn't blow my mind, Cyanogenmod surely does.

The phone is amazing, and I love its performance. Coming from a Palm Pixi, heck, anything is faster. But alas, I am a total power junkie, and I want a lot out of my phones. So I'm trying to use the 1.8GHz OC kernel. I very much hope you fine people would assist me with this.

So, how should I put this? Well, upon starting the phone after flashing the kernel, the phone is very, very slow, and the softkeys don't work. I can't be the only one with this problem, can I? I've tried a handful of guides for overclocking, but all of them are too basic and they fail to explain what to do if there's a problem. Well I'm new to this type of stuff. I mean, I did overclock my Pixi, but all you have to do on that is to download a kernel and use Govnah, it's mostly automated. I'll list the steps I took:

Using this guide: http://www.techwhizz...re-4g-1-80-ghz/ , I downloaded this file: http://www.mediafire...s2lw48de368zgvb

I then put my phone in USB mode and transfered the file to the SD card, then unmounted the phone and turned off USB mode.

I restarted my phone into Clockworkmod recovery, backed up, cleared both caches, and flashed the kernel

Next, I started up the phone, only to find that it is very slow and framey, and the softkeys at the bottom don't do anything. I checked the CPU frequency and it read about 1.8GHz.

Finally, I restored the backup through Clockworkmod recovery

So I have no idea what to do. Could somebody point to a proper guide or file to use? Has anybody else done this correctly?

All help is appreciated.

What setting to change to enable "All" days to sync in ICS Exchange Email

I just installed CM9 on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and noticed the Email client has the "All" option added for the amount of "Days to Sync" when configuring an Exchange account.

I don't understand why they don't make this available in the stock email client, but that's for another thread.

I pushed the Email.apk and Exchange.apk from CM9 to my Transformer Prime (which is obviously on stock ICS due to the still(!) locked bootloader) but after rebooting and adding a new account, it still wouldn't give me the "All" option.

Can anyone let me know where this setting is stored? At this point, I figure it's in one of the frameworks. I have some experience decompiling APK's but just need to know what file/setting I'm looking for.

Thanks.

Disable sim toolkit support or inform the user

Hello devs,

Do you think it would be possible implementing an option disabling the sim toolkit support on the next ICS release?

The idea is to make it possible to filter or inform the user of STK activity.

I don't talk about the stk user interface support which can be removed by deleting the stk.apk

I talk about the "proactive SIM" support, the "call control by SIM" or the "data download to SIM" that is talked about in the chap 4 and 6 of the GSM11-14V5-2-0 specification

See also the chapter 5.1 "This procedure is important, as it is by this that the SIM knows what the ME is capable of, and the SIM
can then limit its instruction range accordingly. If no command is sent by the ME, the SIM shall assume that
the ME does not support SIM Application Toolkit."

The chapter ME could tell the SIM that it doesn't support STK.

In addition, it could be more secured to completely disable / modifiy the related functions from the android source.
For example, on layers between "RIL" and "Commands queue" on "android 1.0".

I don't know if the implementation between RIL and STK is still the same for ICS but the idea would be to avoid the SIM to be able to send SMS, initiate calls, intercept calls, download data without user approval.

An additional feature could be to send a message to the user each time the SIM sends a SMS or initiate a call using the STK when it is active, with the SMS content and recipient, call recipient.

Please tell me if it could be done for everybody or if people has to hack sources to make it possible.

Regards
"The RebelSIM is typically used for SIM unlocking phones. However, as it is a general proxy SIM, it can be used for any purpose, e.g. for filtering any STK commands between SIM and ME (to fully SIM toolkit)"

ADW "Launcher Action" as Lockscreen Gesture

I'm still trying to figure out a way to get access to the notification bar from the CM lockscreen.

The CyanogenMod lockscreen just keeps getting more awesomer but I can't live without access to the notification bar so I'm still using Widget Locker!

I thought I had the answer... assign a lockscreen gesture to the ADW "Launcher Action" "show/hide notification". (If you long press on the ADW launch screen, you can see what I'm talking about.) Aaaaaanyway, the problem is "Launcher Actions" isn't an option in the lockscreen gesture setup. :-(

If it wasn't too diffulicult to make the "Launcher Actions" available to the lockscreen gestures, it would really open up a whole lot more abilities and options.

Sooo, is this something that could be made available without a ton of work? Who should I talk to about making this work? TeamDouche or AnderWeb?

Thanks,
I'm also interested in gettting cyanogen installed on my phone and am curious as to the best way to approach it.

error while building kernel...

Hi guys first of all HI TO EVERYBODY!!!!
I'm new to this forum and hope you will help me....

I recently bought a brand new phone, an LG-P990.
I would like to build my personal rom and kernel so I followed this guide

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104523

and all went ok but when I saw that there were not any kernel source code in it I decided also to follow the following

http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Building_Kernel_from_source

but when I finally launch the compilation with:

make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=$CCOMPILER -j`grep 'processor' /proc/cpuinfo | wc -l`

after few minutes I have the following error message:

http://pastebin.com/z5udP72j

how to fix it???

thank you in advance,
