Latest build (ignore the rc4 tag) with lockscreen gestures added.

Go to CM settings, input, lockscreen gestures.

From there you can create a gesture, assign it an activity or shortcut, then swipe the gesture from the lockscreen and it will launch that specific activity.

Note - some shortcuts/activities won't work (particularly some of those from the Launcher pro picker dialog) but any activity and standard shortcut should work.

Still in testing - no bug reports, but you can post feedback here.

I've been using it all day and no problems so far.  Great feature.  Thanks for all your work on the Droid.

I've been using it for almost 24 hours now, and it seems very solid. Few graphical glitches (notably with text in the app drawer and changing themes), but it's overall stable.

No - go with RC5, gesture support is complete on that build - this was a work in progress, just something for people to play with.

Just checking. I actually made that post while having ROM Manager bump me up to RC5, just for that pithy reason I mentioned.

How exactly does this work? For example, I want to create a Direct Dial gesture to call my girlfriend from the lock screen. I "Add Gesture". It asks me to assign an Activity. I select Direct Dial. I select the contact. I then end up back on the Gesture screen with the contact shown in the gray button and two buttons at the bottom: Done (which is grayed out) and Discard.

Nothing else.

I've managed to add one for Gmail that looks totally bizarre but never saw any sort of prompt for what action to assign to it. It just launches from the lock screen if I touch the screen at all!

I've just been drawing the shape (for instance, the Treble Clef for open music player) and then assigning the program, and hitting done.

Great job on this release!!!

Now I get it. Frankly that could be a bit more intuitive. Didn't realize you draw the shape in the blank space first. Kept waiting for some prompt to say something like that.

I still don't get it. I saved a gesture but can't launch it from the lock screen. Does it need to be the default launch lock screen? And where on the screen do you draw the gesture? Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind, now I see it has to be the default launch screen and the pattern screen does not work with gestures.

I believe it's either gestures OR pattern unlock (yes?).  It'd definitely be great if there were somehow a way to have both, but I don't really know how that'd work.  Really cool feature, though, MT!

Hopefully by tonight you'll be able to unlock the phone and toggle vibrate using gestures (as well as hide the lock tabs altogether) - this may eliminate the need for a lock pattern for some of you.


Gesture updates:

- User can now define unlock and sound toggle gestures.
- Lockscreen tabs can now be fully disabled, but ONLY if there is
  some other method of unlocking the device enabled.  This includes:
  Trackball unlock, menu key unlock, and gesture unlock.
- Changed default gesture sensitivity to 3
- Users are prevented from creating gestures that cannot be
  reproduced on the lock screen (namely vertical single-leg swipes)

Sounds great!  How do we get a copy of the latest gesture functionality?  Is it a matter of loading the latest full build?

Also, I've noticed that my device will jump from the lock screen to making a phone call without having to enter the pin.  However, All application executions first pass through the pin entry pad and require the pin to be entered.  Is this by design?

I've found and installed the latest nightly build (cm_sholes_full-205.zip).

Works very well.  Thanks!

With an unlock gesture configured, and no pin or pwd, I can open the phone to make calls and to run apps with a simple gesture.  Great stuff!

Is there a way to increase the display timeout ON the lockscreen?

i.e. the time users have to perform a gesture. For me the screen frequently goes blank just when I started to draw a gesture, quite annoying...
