On XDA, they have a CM port for the Eris. If I wasn't at work I could link you.

Hey all, new user here, been following the cyanogen port to the Eris that xda has put together. All in all, its very stable, and the only real bug we have left is that the stock MMS application is unable to send MMS messages, and receiving is hit or miss from some contacts.

We've checked APN configurations, and the mms_config.xml configuration in the apk (mms.apk), but none of these seem to point to a solution. Does anyone here have any insight to what the issue could be?

logcat/ddms dont reveal anything interesting.

Thanks for any help/suggestions!

I followed http://forum.cyanoge...0-rc1-10282010/

and when I did Install zip from SD card I got the error
E:Error in /sdcard/update-cm-6.1.0-RC1-BravoC-signed.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted.

Not sure what I am doing wrong and I can't find anything about status 0...  This is my first time rooting and modding an Eris so sorry for being a noob in that.  I had great like with my original G1 though...

Do you have any suggestions?

There's no Cyanogenmod for the Eris. Check http://forum.xda-dev...splay.php?f=554 for Eris ROMs and support.

Let's not forget, Motorola is coming out with the Bravo. That should be nice and confusing.

So let me get this straight. I won't be able to root my wife's Droid Eris (Verizon) and throw CyanogenMod on it? She's never wanted me to do this, but her phone just started flaking out really bad and actually asked me to do that for her.  :(

You should be able to root and find a ROM on XDA: http://forum.xda-dev...splay.php?f=554

I know that the KaosFroyo ROM has element of CyanogenMod incorporated. My friend has an Eris and that's the ROM he's been using.

Hey All - I'm new to this forum, but been floating around XDA and a couple of others for a few months.

I wasn't sure where exactly to post this, since I'm on an ERIS, and saw no forums for my phone in particular.

My issue is this::
- I'm on CELB 4.0 ( built on cyanogen 6.1 ), and my trackball notifications are not working at all.

I've tried the UI tweaks in the settings for the LED notifications.  My trackball lights up during phone startup, and I can also get it to light up, if I do a test flash for an individual application.

I was even able to go into the UI>Automatic backlight>Edit Other Levels option, and set everything to 255, and then the trackball flashes constantly.

I just want the damn thing to flash for incoming call, missed call, text message, etc ......

HELP!

**UPDATE**
Got it working for missed call.  Still not working for notifications like text message, incoming call, etc.  I noticed it works for GMAIL, which is great, well, except I don't use GMAIL.

Thanks - JB

I thought i'd draw your attention to this: Droid Eris (aka desirec) Github

Looks like we will finally be getting our wish, an official cyanogenmod port for the Droid Eris!

Thank XDA developer workshed as he submitted his source for GSB ( Unofficial CyanogenMOD 7 Droid Eris Port) to them and it was accepted. Now we all just need to wait on the first official build for the device.

For now you may want to try GSB until that happens, and thank workshed for his hard work and decision to share his source with the cyanogenMOD team!: GSB (CyanogenMOD 7 Droid Eris Port)

I just heard that Droid eris is actually the HTC Desire. Slap me if I'm wrong, but does this work on the Eris?
