You can always build your own kang from cm-sources, or look at xda. :)

I went to stock ICS 4 using the XDA guides. Only thing I miss from CM currently is the power widgets on notification bar, everything else is great. Issues I had with CM:
Screen blank - only way round it was battery pull or plug something in (happened probably once a day)
Sounds - even though set, the different sounds were not applied for accounts

Will I be going back? Unlikely but nothing to stop me trying it at some point, but stock is much better than before!

Your welcome. :) I got a working nightly kang on xda as well. Same username there. Remember that the script will build a nightly, and sometimes they are broken. At the moment, dialpad and browser is broken. I'm guessing it's because of the changes CM-Team is making to the T9 dialer. Also remember, that nightlies and kangs, are NOT supported by CM-Team.

Glad to have helped. :)

Personally I prefer CyanogenMod 7. I have had 1 random reboot and 2 times blank screen with soft-LED's lighting up. in the last 7 months of CM7 use.
Got root, cvm recovery and cm7 the same day I got my Nexus S [i9023].
I couldn't help it. It was my first officially cm-supported device, coming from a Samsung Galaxy 5 (GT-I5500), which ended up with a great port. (Talk about trouble)

I don't *love* ICS --- Yet. ;)
I DO however love cm7, and the way cm9 is coming along. ;)

Anyways - A crack-flasher like me, gotta flash something. Anything. Again and again and then again. :D Which is also the reason I flashed nightlies. :)

Hey all

How do you guys think it's going to happen when the next nightly comes up (an ICS ROM obviously)?
Will there be a way to port all our #259 settings? Will full wipe be required?

I see nightly builds starting to emerge again for a series of other devices, so hopefully we're soon to start seeing crespo nightlies...

Just did the same this afternoon...  I'm in the process of restoring apps (Titanium); 'tis a bit of a chore to get 80 apps re-installed, what with all the "Are you sure you want to permit that?" and "Done/Open"?

Looking mighty pretty; I'll be interested to see how this plays out vis-a-vis the periodic reboots.  I had been on 7.1.0.1 for quite some time, and was encountering the problem of the phone having a propensity to hang particularly upon hanging up the phone.  I have gleaned, from reports elsewhere (XDA), that this issue is kernel-related, with the consequences that you might expect:
  • Changes to the Java/Android bits of CM7 to be irrelevant to the matter,
  • A later Linux kernel to be of some significance,
  • Deployment of CM9/ICS, which definitely uses a rather newer and modified kernel to substantially change things.
I'm hopeful :-)

My hopes haven't been dashed!  :-)

Have been running the "v1.1 alpha" from KalimochoAz  for the last couple weeks, and updated to v2.1 yesterday; quite happy with it thus far.  I had a couple of unexpected reboots whilst in the process of getting v2.1 updated (I had the wrong Google Apps code in place, initially), but can't complain about that too much!

I see on the blog a progress update from Cyanogen; I hope this means that releases of nightly builds are not too far in the future...

If any are interested, the series of "CM9 drops" has continued; what they were calling version "CM9 v3.4" was released this evening, and seems to be working fine.  That whole series has been pretty good thus far.
In further happy news, the CM build servers have gotten installed, and, as of a little while ago, the "crespo" set of nightly builds was just augmented by, hurray, a build of CM9 that was done tonight.
So, the "long dark night of no nightlies" has begun to lift.
