Given the recent explosion of nightly users, I understand your need for a place to discuss them, and/or ask if other users are having similar issues as you...this is that place

  • DO NOT: Post to the bug tracker
  • DO NOT: Open another thread (I will enforce this with temp bans)
  • DO NOT: Think of this as official forum support; this thread will be strictly user to user support. Don't expect CM-dev help.
** These CyanogenMod builds are highly experimental and unsupported.
**
** Please refrain from submitting bug reports for any issues
** you may encounter while running one of these builds.
**
** Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
** cause of male impotence.

Build #1 is great. I haven't had any of the WiFi-related crashes that I had a week or so ago with the unofficial builds. I've transitioned from CM 6.1.1 to unofficial CM7 nightlies, and now to these official nightlies without ever wiping my data. I've been expecting all manner of bad behaviour (I remember when not-wiping used to be a really bad idea) but so far it's been very smooth.

As previously reported, however, the media system seems to have lost support for FLAC. FLAC is fully supported again in the nightlies.

Just an FYI: if you are updating your Google Apps from http://goo-inside.me/google-apps/ (using the Tiny non-Tegra pack) then you should note that Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Voice, Car Home, and some other Google applications are currently not part of the Tiny bundle (and I wouldn't expect them to be in future). After installing them from the Market (which _is_ included), I was getting Force Closes when trying to run Gmail. I wiped my dalvik-cache and ran fix_permissions and everything is working perfectly now.

Keep up the great work. This is already easily stable enough to be my day-to-day ROM.

I feel stupid. I was using an older gapps and it caused a reboot loop once booted.

I've just installed it with the N1 partition table. Then I flashed gapps-gb-20110115-signed.zip but I wasn't able to install youtube app ... (can someone provide me the apk ?).

I also have a 3G issue, I can't enable it (using the energy control widget as usual)... and I'm stuck with edge ... (Not related to my carrier cause just before I flashed, i was using oxygen 2.0 rc6 and had hsdpa ...)
But wifi is working so no big deal for the moment ^^

(Is there a recommanded radio version ?, I'm using 32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14 )

No, the one with eleven thousand broken redirects from the forum page:

I don't know if it would be better to fix it or delete it since there's a "Downloads" link right in the top menu bar, but one or the other should be done rather than just leave it broken.

Does anyone have an opinion on (and a link to) the best radio version for use with the new nightlies? I'm currently using 32.49.0032U_5.11.05.27 and it seems OK so far - it's hard to judge battery life so far as I only loaded the new ROM this morning and then gave it a bit of a hammering downloading all my apps etc again :-)

Any advice welcomed...

Jack

p.s. Well done to the team behind this version - it looks lovely and seems pretty solid (more stable than the Oxygen / Amethyst roms I've been running to get my Gingerbread fix until now) so far.... fingers crossed!

Seems to be missing proxy support and the Brightness of the SLCD varies on unlocks, for eg. when i unlock it the first time, the brightness is low and when i lock it and unlock it again, the brightness is high.
Everything else seems to be working fine. Thanks for the build!

Hey There!
It appears as if it is impossible to read reviews (comments) in Android Market. I do not know why this is the case, I have done a full wipe and so on although that doesn't help.
I know that this is just nightly, but I just though maybe you'd want to know.

Thank you to all of CyanogenMod's staff and everybody else who helps making this a really awesome community!

Running this rom and it seems really stable and quick so far! God work Cyanogen!
Got one question though (might be gingerbread related and not to CM7, but anyway): De search-button doesn´t work in my exchange-inbox. Notised same problem with the experimental Oxygen-rom i tried earlier.

Can it be some setting maybe?

Flashed it this morning and it just handles like a stable... couldn't find anything wrong or unstable with it while installing my usual stuff and toying with it :P

However, I really miss one thing: the round battery indicator... does anyone know if the old version is working in cm7 (link please?) or that there is a new one that works with cm7 (link?)

After downling the rom, I booted into recovery backed up current version CM 6.1.1 and then installed nightly onto. I started up the rom straight away and it worked fine but I had no gapps installed. I did not know what to do so I went back into recovery and installed the recommended Gapps onto. Now I am stuck at the start screen where it asks me to click on the Android icon but I cannot. I can click else where to start up emergency call or change language. I can even modify the wireless settings if need be but I cannot move from that screen.

I was just wondering why this is? Is it because I did not wipe inbetween installing roms even though I though it would be okay?
Any help would be much appreciated.
