GPS is about what I expect it to be for where I am.  Where'd the battery percentage on the status bar icon config setting go, though?   Love the configurable GApps download chooser.

I am having the same issue... I have gone through all settings and cant find the battery percentage for the status bar. Just upgraded to build 2 as well. Pretty solid build so far, nothing else to report so far.

Pretty sure the battery mod isn't included, yet. Based on the size and position of the current battery, they may not include it all (my opinion and not endorsed by CyanogenMod). The battery seems smaller and I think most users will have to strain their eyes to see the numbers, but options are always nice.

Yes, I know this is the official thread, but based on the current and past history of posts here, this place seems to get very minimal traffic. That is why (one reason, at least) I opened up a new thread at http://forum.xda-dev....php?p=10662269.

I think the thread over at XDA has a link to the battery percentage fix.  Pretty sure that's where I found it when I went looking.

In addition to the battery percentage, is the RSS (dBm) meter gone too? I hate looking at bars they are useless to me.

I would rather have something that removes the bars and battery icon completely (especially in GB since the battery icon is smaller). Just show us the raw numbers for both.

Has anyone gotten USB tethering running with CM7 Build #2 on Windows 7?

None of the HTC driver packs I've tried recognize the phone when it's put into USB Tethering, including HTC Sync 3.0.551. I can get ADB working, and storage mounting, but can't get Win 7 to recognize it as a modem or network interface.

When put into USB Tether Mode, the Device Hardware ID's becomes:

USB\Vid_0bb4&Pid_0c9e&Rev_0226&MI_02
USB\Vid_0bb4&Pid_0c9e&MI_02

These id's don't appear in any of the INF files for any of the drivers I've found, so it's not much of a surprise that the hardware doesn't get recognized. The question is, where are the drivers?

Thanks!

Raz

I had the same problem. I fixed it by using Ubuntu.

Has anyone else gotten the power off/on animations working? The power on animation has never worked for me. The power off animation worked last night when i flashed #5. But only a handful of times and then it won't do it again. It was better looking than I thought it would be.

I've only got three issues to report.  Other than these issues CM7 nightly #5 is working GREAT for me.  Bluetooth, Wifi, GPS, camera (camcorder too)... all working great.

1) I have donated/purchased ROM Manager Premium via paypal, but I still get the message saying I must be using ROM Manager Premium, register my device with the update servers, etc. when I try to turn on update notifications in the Cyanogenmod settings.  How do I register my device with the update servers?  Does this feature only work if you purchased ROM Manager through the market?

2) Automatic brightness doesn't seem to work very well.  It seems to be blindingly bright or way to dim from the point I turn the device on and stays that way until I turn it off and back on again.  At which point it may have different results.

3) This may be a gingerbread/Titanium/Google Recovery issue, but I figured I'd post and see if anyone else is having similar issues.  When I booted the phone up for the first time it started recovering apps that were previously backed up to Google on another ROM (some new feature of Gingerbread I assume).

The apps seemed to load OK but then the market wanted to update just about all of them.  Before I updated though I decided to go check and see if Google had just recovered the apps, or if they'd recovered the apps AND the app data.  It appeared to be only the apps.  So, rather than doing updates on all the apps I just reinstalled Titanium Backup and recovered the backups of all the apps.  Afterwards I noticed that the market showed the only installed app as ROM Manager.  Nothing else was installed as far as it was concerned.  Not even the apps that were there waiting for updates before.

Has anyone else seen these issues?

Power on and power off animations are working fine for me on Nightly #2. One of the two was disabled by default, make sure you have both of them enabled.

For Animations, check your speed in spare parts. Fast disables them. For Ti backup, try telling it to restore market links. Worst case, try installing them manually, like I do, which ensures maximum compatability.

ah-ha! thank you - it was the fast settings in spare parts for windows animations(screen off) and transition animations(screen on). Hmm... It would make sense to have the screen on/off animations not connected to these setting because i like them (the off one really) but can't stand how slow everything is when i have each of these set to Normal.

Well, I did install them from the market again AFTER I restored them using Titanium and noticed they weren't showing up as installed in the market. :)  So far so good.  Hopefully it won't create any problems down the road.

Thanks for that, really.  You didn't address my question, but thanks.

What I asked was if anyone had tried to use native tethering.

Have you? Did it work? If not, did you just assume it was broken or did you hack around with it at all? If it works on Ubuntu, what do you expect future builds of the ROM to do? Doesn't that suggest it's a driver problem? Are teamdouche going to start writing USB drivers for HTC hardware?

Did the PID's I listed seem odd? Did they suggest anything to you about what I'm doing? They should at least trigger questions, if you've done serious work on this. Would it surprise you to learn I got part of the problem solved?

Anyone else? Am I really the only one playing with this? Or did I just miss the discussions?

Thanks,

Raz

I just went into the Facebook app and told it to sync to existing contacts and everything seemed to work as it was before.

I do have one contact that is syncing from Skype and not Facebook, but that may have been the case on stock also.  I never really noticed.

Awesome clarity!

Build 6 is what I am currently running and while I prefer wireless tether via root I did hook up tether in my ubuntu 10.10 and it worked. I will need to verify Windows7 64bit tethering from home as the closest one to me is restricted via group policy. I do notice a significant battery drain, I might consider moving to the new baseband as I have previously heard that cleans the issue up.
