For what it's worth, I use Ginger Yoshi RC6.1 as my daily driver on my MyTouch 3G (original) and it works great!

Using latest kernel from Droidbasement, obviously have updated radio/SPL (did that a long time ago though for the extra RAM).

Mhh, i had nothing but problems with this since rc 5.2 or so.. do you use SPL 1.33.0013d or 1.33.0013 (like i do!)? Swap or not?

Has anybody actually tried compiling CM7 from source?
Who can we contact to help if we have?

As I said: look at the post.  It has links to the ROM and kernel as well as installation instructions.  What more do you want?

Just went and did this last night (32B Magic now running Gingerbread). Very nice work.

The process does take quite a bit of patience and attention to detail, and does involve chasing the various links in the doco to complete some of the steps. This is possibly very scary looking for a 1st timer wanting to update.

Essentially (in case Elvis above wants to try) you are looking at replacing

- SPL
- Radio
- The ROM itself

However replacing the SPL may involve replacing your original one with a special "Engineering" version (I had to do this), and then doing the above steps.

Having said that I spent a lot longer reading the docs and downloading the various .zip, .img than it took to update the device!

It's will be doesn't work. I've tryed yesterday to do this. You must upgrade Your SPL and Radio first, next flash the ROM.

Hey I was wondering if there is some way I could make this rom work on my htc dream 32A from rogers.

HBOOT 1.33.2005
radio 3.22 (new radio with 911 fix)

I tried flashing this one and obviously with no success. It showed errors with the boot (obviously) and then the installation was aborted.

So how could I make this rom flash? Any ideas?

Thanks! :)

I have a similar question like many on here - I have successfully compiled CM7.2 for HTC Dream from source (more on this in a separate thread), but when I attempted to install it (via amon_ra 1.7) the installation failed.

As it turned out, it requires bootloader 1.33.0013, 1.33.2013, 1.33.3013 or 1.33.0013d (so the error log says on the screen). After checking my phone specs (Home+Power) it turns out that I have the following:

HBOOT-1.33.2005
Radio 2.22.19.26I
DREAM PVT 32B
Amon_Ra 1.7

Is it possible to "upgrade" the outdated components in order to use CM7.2? If so, how and where can I find a guide (if any exists) to do that? Help is very much appreciated, thanks!
