Hello, since xda-developers are making progress with an Android port to replace the WM 6.5 OS on the T-MOBILE US EDITION HTC HD 2, are there any plans or collaborations that are going to take place to push Cyanogenmod onto HTC HD2?

p.s. I love cyanogenmod this much

Actually.....this may be possible. I know at least one of the CM devs has gotten android to boot on the HD2.

Any port though would be completely unofficial, since it relies on dual booting the phone.

actually, dual booting is not necessary. they were able to get android to boot by replacing the boot loader so it works with linux kernel. there is a build of android out for the phone, but I would call it alpha because nothing really works yet. speaking of which... what do I need to do to help port cyanogen to the hd2?

With recent development here: http://alltechdownloads.blogspot.com/ is it possible to port it to the HTC HD2 now?

**edit** "it" being CM5+ or potentially CM6, lol

Cyanogen Mod RC1 - Leo build by Zego WITH ADOBE FLASH and 3G WORKING

There is a new nice build called CM6-HTCLEO (Cyanogen Mod RC1 - Zeto)
It needs a lot of prep work to get to good working order, then its really good.
I have also managed to get adobe flash working. (It doesn't work out of the box)

This build
(after all the steps) have gps, camera (with proper flash exposure), camcorder, camera flash/led/torch, adobe flash, nice look and most other goodies available.

Here are the steps

1) Download cm6-htcleo.7z from:
http://www.mediafire...kzo7fxi2hp917s8

2) Download phone button (keypad) fix:
http://www.mediafire...qrs4w0kd470keqm

3) Download MTU fix from:
http://www.mediafire...tqggvgrzb79gm24
or
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JL368N3N

4) Download Cotulla 23 July nospeed zimage from:
http://cotulla.pp.ru...._NOSPEEDDY.rar

5) Extract the cm6-htcleo.7z file and put the cm6-htcleo to your sd card root.

6) Extract the cm6-htcleo_keypadfix.7z file and put the FOLDER NAMED root UNDER cm6-htcleo folder in your sd card. (Not to sd card root folder. I really mean a folder named root. You will see it in the archive)

7) Extract the cm6-htcleo-datafix.zip file and put the FOLDER NAMED root UNDER cm6-htcleo folder in your sd card. Just merge them. (Say yes when windows asks) Credit: ElBartoME

8) Extract Cotulla_zImage_CABDET_NOSPEEDDY.rar
and put zimage file to cm6-htcleo folder and overwrite.

credit: cotulla

9) ONLY DO THIS STEP IF YOU CANNOT BOOT (linux complaining about mmcblk0): Open startup.txt with notepad and
replace the line
set cmdline "rel_path=cm6-htcleo"
with:
set cmdline "rel_path=cm6-htcleo loop_partition=mmcblk0"

credit: dusty_nz

10) Run clrcad and haret as usual but from cm6-htcleo folder. Once Android has booted start terminal app.

11) write
su
and press enter. It will ask for superuser permission. Tap allow.

12) write
mount -o rw,remount /system
and press enter. You should not get any response or error.

13) Now launch ES File Manager and tap \ on top left.
Navigate to /system/app and find

com.adobe.flashplayer apk file and delete it.

14) Power off your phone in a normal way and reboot to Android CM6.

15) Go to Market and install Adobe Flash 10.1 Beta 3 (use your gmail account)
Done!

Notes:
-FIRST BOOT WILL TAKE A LOT OF TIME! BE PATIENT. IT WILL TAKE A LOT LONGER THAN YOUR USUAL BUILDS.
-ADOBE FLASH does not work out of the box. You have to reinstall it but since it was cooked in to the rom as system app and you can't uninstall it, you need to mount /system directory read/write and delete flash so you can install it again. This time it works properly.
-You may not be able to boot if you do not edit the startup.txt
-You may not be able to wake up if you do not replace the zimage with the older 23 july one. You can use 25 july panel on off zimage if you CAN wake up from sleep. It depends on hd2 lcd panel type which is more than one.

Optional: Install Launcher Pro and make it default home screen to get a smoother experience.

After ALL these operations, this seems like the most functional build.

Cyanogen is normally a mod for android and someone named zego turned it into a hd2/leo build. A lot of stuff was missing and there was no central infromation. That was what I did. You don't need to read 6 pages to get this build working this good now.

I recommend disabling live wallpaper. Static wallpapers are faster. Formatting sd card beforehand and using a class 6 sdhc card is also recommended.

I don't have time to package all this stuff into a build. Maybe someone who does above steps can package it in a new single file and put to megaupload/mediafire (mskip/Mark?) For now you have to do it yourself. You will like the end result.
Packagers please don't call yourselves devs and give credit to original hard working people. Donation is also recommended.
I am sorry if I forgot to give credit to anyone.

I got all this information by reading all the pages of this thread and some more. Now you don't have to.

i was thinking of buying a htc hd2. i've read alot articles that they can be flashed with android os. But i've not actually found out how. Is there a working cm build for the hd2? I tried searching xda's site but the forum always seems to be down.

There is a cyanogen build for hd2, I'm running right now. I think its actually the best build out there. Bluetooth and wireless tether don't work, that's about it. Head over to XDA forums, Leo section under android development. Read up. I'd post a link but I'm replying from my hd2 and I'm lazy lol.

here's the link anyways.

you need to flash a custom windows mobile rom and happy 2 or 3, information for both of which can be found on XDA in Leo section.

I'm also running this on my HD2, and it is amazing. I've been able to run this for days, with the only issue I have is the fact that the SD card is not recognized as an SD card, either by the phone, nor when I plug in the USB cable.

Anyone else encounter this?

Hi.

RC1 is working great!  However, I was wondering how I can get RC3 to work.  I tried gzipping the folder to htcleo_update.tar.gz to replace the RC1 files, but now the phone gets stuck in the cyanogen logo....

Any ideas?  There is a shubcraft build for HD2 using RC3, but it's a bit stripped down and themed.  I prefer to keep the default cyanogen built in apps and default theme.

Please advice.

Thanks

For anyone that doesnt already know theres a really good CM6 final build here http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=740963 and also bangsters made a good build with 180 dpi for CM6 which is a little too tiny for my taste but its all a matter of opinion.  http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=768048

The shubcraft 1.5 rom for the hd2 is based off of cm6 rc3. I've been running android on my hd2 for a while with no problems at all really, but I'm not running shubcraft. I can't wait for a cm6 stable port to hd2, I really miss all of the cm settings and customization I had with my G1!

I have been running shubcraft 1.5 since I last posted and it works great for me so far. I dont use bluetooth so I dont know how that works and I think the compass isnt working right just yet. Also you have to reboot after using usb mass storage for the phone to see the files on the memory card. Other than that, it works good. Feels great having all my cm6 wallpapers and settings on my HD2!

I don't suppose anyone could point me to some required reading or maybe provide some simple instruction on how to create my own custom ROM for my HD2?

I know that someone over at XDA created a coffeeshop, however that does not seem to be working for me.

I have a Windows system but also have an Ub partition on it, so I do have access to a Linux Distro.

Any help with this would be great!!

After using CM on my g1 for a while, I love the ability to change notification bar color and show battery %. So when I bought a HD2 last month with the intentions of porting android, I was on a mission to get cm on my HD2. I then discovered the Shubcraft 1.5 rom, which is based on CM6 rc3. I used it for a week or so and I loved having cm settings on my HD2. Problem is, shubcraft rom isn't really fully stable as of yet, or atleast not a stable as other rom i was using. So my question is... Is there a way to push Cyanogenmod Settings.apk from shubcraft rom onto the other rom I am running, so that I can have my stability back, and also have cm settings in the menu? I have tried cd /sdcard install com.cyanogenmod.cmpart .. etc etc etc and pm install from terminal with no luck. Obviously file managers from market won't work either. Would I have to use abd and would that work right with hd2 since system is ran from memory card. Or is this even possible at all? Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated! I really miss my cm setting :(

I'm wondering if CyanogenMod might be working on porting their awesome ROM the the HD2, I'm asking cause my cousin has that phone and the hardware is nice but Windows Mobile sucks so bad. If it is being worked on I'd switch to the HD2 when theres a stable release I think it would be cool to see CyanogenMod6 on the HD2, anyone agree??

Already possible/accomplished. (though not officially supported)

Check XDA
