Fisrt of all

Hi All -

I'm currently running CyanogenMod-7-01162011-NIGHTLY-Legend - anyone else with GPS issues? like GPS=on but no signal?

in all fairness it could be faulty as it has only been like this for around 2 weeks and i've had this install
for quite some time... I have not dropped or banged it and all apps show the GPS as turned on ...  just no signal.
My wife has a Legend, not rooted and hers picks up sats within 10-15 seconds.. Unfortunately there does not appear
to be very many settings relating to GPS but I have GPS tester 1.2.1 by Chartcross (FAB!)but it shows zipp! not even a glimmer

anyone got any ideas or things to try
all the best

D

It is a well known issue in CM7 and someone is already working on this.

Hello, yes, i have this issue too :\
I'll try to downgrade to CM6.1, but it is sadly because CM7 works great except GPS.

GPS is now repaired and it should work in the latest nightly. But maybe you should wait a day or two, cause CM7 RC1 for legend will be out soon, there already is out for some other devices.

i had the same problem, i had my radio flashed to the ones here http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=706435 i had no problem with gps. accuracy to 8m radius. previously my radio was 7.05.35.26, try change it to 7.08.35.21 found on the thread from xda above and see if it works for you. i tested this on Mod version CyangenMod-7-02172011-NIGHTLY-Legend i got this sometime lastweek.

So, do we have any definitive answer to this? GPS is not critical for me, so I'm probably not as pushed out of shape about it like others are, but I don't want to flash a new radio to get it working and then screw something else up by doing it. FWIW, just flashing the radio on an already installed CM7_Full_3 is probably not going to get the results you are looking for. A fresh install is likely in order: do a nandroid and APK+data backup, wipe all, flash the Update 3 again and reboot twice. Then try the GPS and see what's what. That's usually the suggestion. I have the stock radio on mine (7.05 I think) and have both the 7.08 and 7.13 downloaded - but I'd like some confirmation that it works before flashing my primary phone.

Thanks!
RootDude

Ok... so after quite some messin' my GPS is now working fine... which is cool because now I know my device is fine.
Im not entirely sure of the correct process.. but this (basically)is what I did.
(not trying to teach you guys to suck eggs)

**If you don't know what any of these steps involve then I suggest reading more fisrt**

*[BACK UP]*[BACK UP]*[BACK UP]*[BACK UP]  What you have already!

Boot in recovery -
Wipe everything -
Install from Flash (CM of your choice) -
Install from Flash radio_47.39.35.09_7.08.35.zip
Install from Flash (gapps of your choice)
Reboot  (and pray for no bootloops..)

When you are done after the first boot.. fire up a gps app and enable gps (only because thats how I did it)
my first sat synchronized in about 3 secs..

hope this works out-
so.. now im off to try and break it again :) cm_legend_full-4.zip :)

I had a similar issue. When I re-applied the radio image 7.13 GPS was working fine.

Flashing Radio_47.39.35.09_7.13.35.05 seams to make a huge difference - not only to GPS (which starts working) but wifi as well.

Flashing the radio did not help for me. I started a new thread here about this issue. This thread includes a detailed description of what I did. Besides; when I find a solution that works for me I will update it in this thread.

I had issues with getting GPS to work on my HTC legend running CyanogenMod 7.0.3. Updating radio to version 7.13.35.05 found at above link seems to solve the problem.

Thank you TwoToes
