I just updated my nexus one to CM7 RC1 and encountered this problem almost immediately.
DSPManager constantly force closing on me and caused my phone to either reboot or go into bootloader.
Upon checking Dynamic Range Compression causes the sound to go crazy, ie loud fuzzy static sound.

Anyone experienced this other than me?

Try to clear data for DSPManager under Applications -> Manage -> All

Also, did you upgrade from CM6 or did you wipe and start fresh when installing CM7? Some people have been able to get away without wiping, but most end up needing to.

I upgraded from CM6 without a wipe. I shall give it a short at clearing the data then. Though im kinda lazy to retweak my equalizer. heh.

EDIT: Loud fuzzy static sounds still persist after clearing data. D:

You may end up needing to do a full wipe. While some people were able to upgrade without wiping, many were not, and they ended up having to wipe. Also upgrading isn't recommended by the CM team... Upgrading from CM6 to CM7

I upgraded from CM6 to CM7 (RC1) with a format of the system partition and a complete wipe.  I've cleared the data on DSPManager.  And I have the same problem of crazy loud, distorted volume through my headphones whenever I enable Dynamic Range Compression (even slight).
