I'm having similar issues, even though I've wiped and re installed a number of times.

Having read a few threads, it appears the problem may be with 2.3.3, because stock GB users seem to be having the same issues.  These problems only started on my phone since 2.3.3 was integrated...

Think you're right. I tried another rom which isn't based on 2.3.3 but not CM7 and got the same problem. Perhaps I'll try and contact HTC to see if they'll give me new phone. It's not really satisfying that a Google phone can't run the latest Google OS...

I have the same issue too.  Had to fall back to CM6.1 and no more problem.
I'm thinking to retry with CM7 RC2 to see if it's solved.  I'll try tomorrow or friday and give you more news.

I actually think it was Maps causing my issue.  Everytime I opened Maps everything started to act wierd.  I've now re-integrated Maps into system and fixed permissions and everything seems good again...

Initially I also had this issue. I had move Gmap to /data and removed Gmap from /system but somehow something is not right. I've check and check to see anything is not right but found nothing. Still by opening Gmap it doesn't feel right. So I created a flashable zip to remove Gmap and its dex from /system (though I've already check its not there anymore). Once flashed and upon reboot, all was back to normal. My Gmap which is on /data is working well without affecting the phone at all.

Till today IDK whats wrong but it gets the job done, I've no complaints.

LOL :)

If possible, can you forward a step by step explanation of how you did this? I'm not entirely sure how to move Google Maps from /system to /data. I have root explorer installed and assume that it must be done with that app?

Thanks in advance!

Simplest way is.............

1)  Uninstall any updates of Gmap from market first
2)  Use Root Explorer and proceed to /system/app/ and delete Gmap.apk
3)  Reboot
4)  Open market and install Gmap

Done.

Thanks for the reply. I have just installed CM7 build 14 and will try your procedure. Hopefully it'll prevent the phone from shutting down.

Here my two Google Nexus one. One of them works perfectly an the other one has the issue.
Do you think I have to change radio/boot?

Have you seen both panels at quick sight? They are differents.

Well, the issue on my phone does not seem to be caused by Google Maps. I flashed CM7 build 14 on it and didn't install Maps. It still shuts down on a random basis.

Is this defect the same thing that you are seeing?

No, that's not the same issue. The phone becomes completely non-responsive by itself...no need to open an app.

So it looks like there's still no fix for it yet. :<

I might have to roll back to CM6 because my phone goes unresponsive at the most random times and I end up missing important phone calls and texts. I can't keep functioning like this.

Has anyone with this issue tried going to Google's 2.3.3 rom and still had this issue? I'm tempted to try it and see because I like Gingerbread so much.

Also, I don't know if it makes any difference but I am using the AT&T band nexus one.

I flashed Gingerbread 2.3.3 on my N1 and the problem is the same. It's an issue in GB, it seems. Hopefully it's fixed by the time Honeycomb is rolled out. I've tried flashing various roms based on GB but the phone always becomes non-responsive after a while. I'm currently on stock MIUI and they're set to release a GB version for the N1 on the 18th. Will be interesting to see if the problem occurs on that rom as well.

It is highly doubtful that honeycomb will ever roll out to phones. There will probably be hacked versions for phones on xda, but nothing official. Honeycomb was never meant for phones. It was built from the ground up for tablets. The framework and look and feel will eventually get into a new release so that the UIs are similar, but when we start getting Honeycomb features in a phone, it will most likely be the next major Android release (I suspect Ice Cream or Ice Cream Sandwich).

Well, just as long as it gets fixed to avoid the incessant shut-downs on my phone...

After it reboots look at /proc/last_kmsg it might give some hints.

Got a freeze this morning when I was actually near a computer to dump this file.  I'll attach it here for others to review and see if they can find anything out of the ordinary.

The first thing that jumped out at me was the timeout and data transfer errors with msm_i2c - I don't know what this is, exactly, but maybe something related to my SD card?  I've had the freezing problems on both 8 GB and 16 GB cards (both Class 6).  The 16 GB was just partitioned yesterday for DT A2SD - the freezing behavior existed both before and after DT was installed.

Still freezing on #23...doing a permission fix now to see if that has any benefit.  Anyone else come up with anything that seems to help?

This issue has been driving me nuts for a few weeks now. It doesn't seem like any of the devs are working on it, although it keeps coming up. No fix in sight?
