Hi,

I updated from CM6 to CM 7.0.0 (RC 1) on Nexus one. I wiped data/formatted from clockwork recovery before updating. Currently my Wi-Fi is not at all connecting. I am getting status message as "Error". Is there any work around.

Thanks,
Raghu

When you wiped, did you include the /system partition? This is not part of the Factory Reset/Data Wipe option on the main screen. It is under Mounts and Storage.

no... because I didn't do this step last time when I updated. Is this mandatory? Do I have to do this step now to resolve issue or is there any workaround?

Well, I can't say for sure that this would even fix your problem, but I don't think I have seen this issue since RC1 was mid-February, so I don't think it would be a bug in the code. As for any other workarounds, I don't know of any. The step was included in the directions on how to upgrade from CM6 to CM7 in a post at the top of this forum. Some (but only a handful) have been able to upgrade without issues, but most end up needing to wipe to get everything to function properly.

You can still restore apps and app data with an app like Titanium Backup, but stay away from restoring anything that you didn't install yourself.

Recently there is one user who had this issue too. No solutions to it till he performed a full wipe including system.

Where will I find the option to include /system partition during wipe. Last time I wiped in recovery mode. Please provide me with the steps to update. Currently I am on CM 7 RC 1

Thanks,
Raghu

If you are running clockworkmod recovery, the steps to perform the wipe of /system are in my first post. After that perform a Factory Reset/Data Wipe from the main recovery screen. Then install as normal.

If you are running Amon_RA, the option to wipe /system doesn't exist (yet, he is working on it), so you have to flash a formatting zip such as temasek's Extreme Wipe.

If you are restoring apps with a program such as Titanium Backup, make sure you are very selective when restoring system settings because you may introduce the problem again if you restore the wrong settings (I usually don't restore any system settings).

Hi,

Updated to 7.1.0 using ROM Manager and also manually copying update file to SD card but my Wi-Fi is not at all connecting. While doing manual update I did include /system partition during data wipe.

Please help on this.

Thanks,
Raghu

When you performed the wipe of /system, did you try also performing a Factory Reset/Data Wipe?
