Simple: Just use the included Torch-widget. Malfunction Guaranteed!

As always when in 'need of light', I popped my smartphone from my pocket, and activated the camera flash for it to serve as a flashlight. I always feel sort of clever and high tech using it, I don't know exactly why, but it certainly looks impressive (right?). Anyway, I was fondling around in the dark when I had to use both of my hands at the same time. So naturally I put the phone back into my pocket, not realizing/minding I hadn't actually turned the flash off. About 15 minutes later, I felt a burning sensation in my thigh. After passing all of that current, and emitting a constant bright light; It had gotten so extremely hot to the touch, I was struggling to get the battery out because of the overwhelming heat. It's just incredible the phone actually works.

RIP (BA S410 - 1400 mAh - li-ion)

Disclamer ;) This thread was not made in order for me to complain or slander the developer(s) of the app. I made a stupid mistake, and I write this so that people are made aware of what can happen if the flash is left on. It won't automatically turn off.

Haha (not laughing at you, but at the way you worded your post... at least you are good hearted about the incident ;) ). There was actually a thread discussing some of the issues that can arise from leaving the torch app running too long.

Luckily, when I used it to drain my battery for a battery calibration, I didn't run into this issue (and I had my torch running for about 1 1/2 hours   ), but mine was sitting on a table with the flash actually off the edge of the table. But after reading everyone else's issues, I will never attempt this again. I know I got lucky with it.
