Is anyone else having issues not seeing the TV-style screen off/on animations?
For me the screen just shuts off with no animation. I made sure both options are enabled under Cyanogenmod Settings and all animations are running. Any tips?
Thanks

No tips, but mine doesn't work either and I'm wondering if it has something to do with the hero's inability to run flash. Just a guess though

Check that your animation settings for windows and transitions aren't set to 'fast' in spare parts. I noticed the other day if both of those are set to fast the screen off animation doesn't work properly.

Both are set to 'Normal'. So the animations do work for you? I just assumed it was a problem with CM7 on Hero. Now I have the urge to wipe and try again... (That effect it so simple yet so awesome)
P.S. Also, thank you for creating an account just to reply with some help!

Wipe cash partition and then reboot - sometimes it takes a couple of tries but it will eventually start working.

I used to have the same problem, but I "fixed" it by deleting cache and dalvik cache. unfortunately if I forget to charge my phone, or I restart my phone, I have to do the same thing in order for it to work again.

If the animation were more smooth, I'd leave it on. I kinda like it.

Same here. The screen-off animation works only after the following steps:
My window animation settings have always been set to "normal" and the problem still occurs.
- Reboot into recovery
- Clear cache + dalvik cache (haven't tried only cache and not dalvik, but why bother)
- Boot
My window animation settings have always been set to "normal" and the problem still occurs.
