Please please please add proxy settings.
I want to use my NC at the office, but I'm required to use a proxy, so it's useless to me at work right now.

Thanks!
Andy

Hi, Andy!
U can try "Transparent Proxy".
On my HD2(CM7) run succeed.
But On My NC(CM7), I have root access with the app, but when I try to turn the proxy on, I get this error:

"Failed to start redirect.sh (FIX ME! implement
getprotobyname() bionic/libc/bionic/stubs.c:378
iptabels v1.3.7: can't initialize iptables table 'nat':iptables
who? (do you need to insmod?)
Perhaps iptables or your kernel need to be upgraded"
the message repeats.

Which kernel are you using? NAT and IPtables have to be in the kernel. I think the current OC kernels have them, I'm not certain about CM7 stock.

Running the cm7 daily build from yesterday, but if there's a different build that works i'm game. I get the same error from transparent proxy.

Thanks,
Andy

Is that the stock kernel or the OC one?

Hi, is this file update-CM7-dalingrin-OC-emmc-040411.zip you mean?

I am using the same kernel with CM7 in a NC and can't access my proxy server at work, the kernel needs netfilter/iptables.  Is there a kernel for the Nook Color that includes those?

From the first post in that thread:

[3/28/11] - All kernels execpt Honeycomb: Cifs and tun modules included. Netfilter/IPtables tested insofar as Droidwall worked

Maybe search that thread?

I have the same problem where I get the same error when I try running Transparent Proxy.  I am using the 2.6.29-omap1 kernal and Droidwall does work, but Transparent Proxy  doesn't.  Does anyone have any proxy app working with the OC Kernal?  The kernal may have IPTables, but not with the options needed for these proxy apps.

I tried the dalingrin's kernel and the CM7 stock one with all of the proxy server apps and settings I could find. None worked. I think it's something missing in the kernel that is needed to use the proxy settings in CM7 and this makes it a great pain being behind the corporate firewall.

I'm using the sshtunnel app as a socks proxy. No documentation but it works.

How did you set this up?  Is it also doing ssh?  I couldn't figure out a way to use it.

Yes, please give more info. I managed as far as setting an SSH tunnel to my home PC and sshtunnel app seems to connect but I got stuck on how to let the Android apps know to use the tunnel.

Sorry for the late reply.  I just don't lurk this forum enough.  I may have been a bit premature.  By "works" I meant that it connects.  I spent a lot of time figuring out how to get certificate authentication to work.

However, I have lately come to a better understanding of the current state of proxy with Cyanogen and I think I may be getting a false positive result.  The tunnel is created but I have not gone as far as to verify that my traffic is going through the tunnel.

I've discovered that you can actually set the proxy on Opera Mobile and in Firefox with an extension.  For Opera edit the configuration by going to opera:config and then open the proxy settings.  For Firefox I used Proxy Mobile from https://guardianproject.info download at https://addons.mozil...roxy-mobile/  I think its mainly aimed at Tor  and their Orbit but it worked for getting out through the proxy server at my work.  The Opera settings did too.  This doesn't make everything work, but it does make it possible to use these browsers at work.
