As we wait for Vega to be accepted to the official CM nightly list, please use this thread for discussion of Sven's nightlies.

What are nightlies?
Nightly builds are automated builds from latest cyanogenmod sources. they are not tested in deepth like RC's or stable versions. In most cases they work without any issues, since only reviewed patches end up in the source tree.

Since vega does not have official nightly status yet, i do semi-official builds for you on a semi regular basis, usually updating once a day.
As a cyanogenmod dev and member of teamdouche, i should know what i am doing.

Note: we will have official nightlies on the official teamdouche mirrors very soon.

Vendor vega
The vendor vega is currently for Advent Vega and PoV Mobii devices. There might be more added later on.

Nightly #04
cm_vega_full_b04_teamdesire-20110413-1632.zip md5sum: b298dbc22506e2b32f1fbd73c39ea712
cm_vega_full_b04_teamdesire-20110413-1632.zip additional mirror

clockworkmod 3.0.2.4 for vega
Note: you dont have to use it. you can still use your old recovery. its just a bonus if you want latest and best recovery (and orange)
recovery_vega_3024_r2_teamdesire.img md5sum: 73f4c5c09188b3fe83d46e51dc88c678
recovery_vega_3024_r2_teamdesire.img additional mirror
for installation enter these adb commands when a cm7 vega is connected (or any other rom with the flash_image command)
adb push recovery_vega_3024_r2_teamdesire.img /sdcard
adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery_vega_3024_r2_teamdesire.img
if you use a rom without flash_image - look at add.thebad's post for a solution.

Upgrading from nightly prior 03?
You have to reset the market. Either do a full wipe, or follow this in the same order:
-go to settings->applications->all applications->market and select clear cache
-go to titanium, search for market, select the market app (3.3.6 at the time of writing) and select wipe data
-if you now start market and agree to the EULA, you should see all installed apps unter my-apps
-you are done. market should now do no more harm.

Nightly install instruction
Coming from another rom?
  • Do a full wipe in clockwork mod recovery
  • Install latest linked nightly build from this thread
  • Flash latest gapps from here: http://goo-inside.me/google-apps/
  • you are done! reboot and enjoy

Upgrading from older nightly?
  • Just flash latest rom from here in clockworkmod recovery
  • No need to wipe or flash gapps again, if you done on first install
  • In rare cases you will encounter bugs, noone else encounters - wipe then and do a fresh install
  • In at least 99% no wipe needed - there are known people not having wiped for at least half a year
  • Doing a nandroid backup before upgrading is always a wise idea, in case something goes wrong

List of known bugs
This is a list of cm7 bugs specific to vega - i wont cover cm7 general bugs here, since they are covered on other places.

  • no legacy a2sd yet - working on it
  • after fixing the huge lags, still some much small lags left
  • bluetooth not working
  • camera needs extra commands to work
  • power->reboot->recovery doesnt work and power->reboot->bootloader should be removed

Changelog

#04 / 13.04.2011
-As usual, updated to latest sources before building
-Lots of internal changes (changed init system and prop files) thanks to combined irc effort of bumble-bee, fun_ and me.
-As a result, the system should be more smooth
-Improvments on bluetooth and camera - but still some issues to work out
-Building latest clockworkmod now - even though, you can still use the old version

-As usual, updated to latest sources before building.
-increased lcd density from 160 to 161 to bypass market bug (market should have no more issues)
