After the recent OTA firmware upgrade I lost root (visionary)
So when the time came to go Cynogenmod the only option was to downgrade the firmware to 1.32.405.6 from 1.84.720.3
I followed as per this link
# On the computer, open terminal and run the following commands:
adb push psneuter /data/local/tmp
adb push misc_version /data/local/tmp
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/psneuter
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/misc_version
adb shell /data/local/tmp/psneuter
adb shell
NOTE: You should have the "#" sign instead of the "$". If you do, you have temporary root, and can continue on.
/data/local/tmp/misc_version -s 1.31.405.3
exit
Done...!
I get #
# Copy the 1.32.405.6 firmware to the root of the SD card (NOT in any folders).
# On the computer, open terminal and run the following command:
adb reboot bootloader
Done...!
Phone reboots
# Follow the on screen directions, on the HTC Desire HD, on flashing the 1.32.405.6 firmware.
Here is where the problem happens.
It checks for the
PD98IMG.nbh
not found
PD98IMG.img
not found
PD98IMG.zip
Blue progress bar finishes
then it will validate the zip
Yellow/golden progress bar
The pops up the below error.
CID incorrect!
Update Fail!
Press power to reboot.
Phone is not locked to a carrier/branded.
md5 is correct.
Googled it and it seems this error happens if the phone is locked and have to use a gold card ?
Saw several guides on it, but I'm not really sure what it does and don't wanna brick the thing.
Anyway In my case phone is not locked.
What needs to be done next ?
Help suggestions please...
