Hello guys ..

How To Downgrade HTC Desire HD To Root It After OTA Update
By Haroon Q. Raja on Feb 16 2011
http://www.addictive...ter-ota-update/

The only problem I had was Reverse CID’ value, making sure to use mmc2 and not mmc1

However I just can’t seem to find a workaround for the wildfire and looking at the posts here it seems this problem has been hanging around since Jan 2011..

If anybody has a solution could they pls post it here.. ?

I tried to use the guide for the desire with a view to using stock rom on gold card but altering the command lines “./misc_version -s 1.31.405.6” To match my buzz stock rom, but it does not seem to work and falls over before I can get that far..
it fails at this command line  “adb shell /data/local/tmp/psneuter”
Am I wasting my time? Would it have just been cheaper to buy an unlocked/sim free phone..? And stick with HTC Stock ROMs ?

I do like to learn how / why and what for … however sometimes it’s occurring to me that maybe the wildfire is really not such a desire-able phone or worth all that extra efforts. And off course we all want High spec. Desire HD or Incredible S models… Y/N ?

Many thanks to all those who took the time to read this…

Regards Hellbender Rick.

You can get root on froyo wildfire with "GingerBreak" but the ROM is write protected and no-one has found a way around that yet.
