Given the recent explosion of nightly users, I understand your need for a place to discuss them, and/or ask if other users are having similar issues as you...this is that place

  • DO NOT: Post to the bug tracker
  • DO NOT: Open another thread (I will enforce this with temp bans)
  • DO NOT: Think of this as official forum support; this thread will be strictly user to user support. Don't expect CM-dev help.
** These CyanogenMod builds are highly experimental and unsupported.
**
** Please refrain from submitting bug reports for any issues
** you may encounter while running one of these builds.
**
** Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
** cause of male impotence.

Yeah I've been running it since yesterday. It's surprisingly stable to be a nightly, actually. One problem though--I was tweaking some of the options for cyanogen in the settings for the LED light and, even though I've reset to defaults, I can't get the LED to blink only one color. It keeps doing this rainbow thing of lights when I get a notification, even when something finishes downloading. Anybody figure out to fix this?

Before I jump into the Droid2 CM7,  There is not much content in the forums on the droid2, I was wondering how stable the current nightly is for the droid 2.  I mostly want to know if the high level functionality is satisfactory working.

Also, what is the chances of bricking the phone? I know from my other phones, it should be low.  Not sure and not too educated with the locked boot loader/bootstrap of the droid2

I am a Incredible/Color Nook CM7 nightly user, so i know the ups and downs of the nightlies.

So happy this is finally here for the D2, and it seems VERY stable. One stupid question though -- are we supposed to wipe when updating nightlies? I would imagine not, but I just want to make sure.

Great work guys, ran into a few things since it is a nightly but everything overall is great. Is a daily driver in my opinion.

* Not sure if this is a ADW Launcher thing, but unable to long press on a app and remove, move or anything. I get haptic feedback, but nothing else happens.

* When I try to install through Rom Manager, it always fails so I am forced to install manually. No large issue, but something to look at.

If anyone has any ideas, let me know and I will test them.

This seems to be working fine for me, when you longpress on an icon does it pop up that ADW menu bar thing?

Very stable we are still hunting some minor bugs
Led lights (if you apply custom settings the just cycle colors)
Bluetooth volume low
Stock livewallpapers (ones from the market work)
Alt lock key is unresponsive
Torch is borked but the fix has been accepted and should be in nightly builds soon.

Other than that all is working as it should

I never wipe when I update to the latest nightly, but I always run a backup, just in case.

I haven't had any problems with that either. Try a different launcher, like go launcher or launcher pro and see if there's any difference. I installed directly from the download page too, though, instead of ROM Manager. That might make the difference. Try a full wipe and reinstall if all else fails.

Only get that menu when I long press through the programs launcher, not when I have it saved to a home screen.

Oh okay, I did a backup anyway just to be on the safe side.

That is incredibly strange...maybe try redownloading and flashing again? Make sure you wipe data, it sounds like the launcher is borked somehow.

Also, has anyone that's updated to the latest nightly had a problem where contacts no longer show up in their texting app? ChompSMS just started displaying their number, even though hitting Add Contact just opened up their (filled out) contact page. I restored back because it bothered me so much.

I only have that problem with SMS Popup.  In the built-in messaging app, the names still show up. I think it's just 3rd Party Apps that are the problem

Yeah, I saw that stock messaging doesn't have that problem...how strange. Hopefully JBird might be able to shed some light?

Would you possibly be able to try installing Chomp? If you still can't replicate, then I'll assume PEBMAC.
Edit: I'm sorry for making more work for you, given how hard you must already be working on this. I'd just assume it was my own fault, but Royale reported the same issue.

Just wondering, I know there are similarities and differences between the Droid 2 and the Droid 2 Global, but is there any chance this would work on the Droid 2 Global?  I really love cyanogenmod 7 on my original droid, and that is the absolute only reason I use it over my D2G.  I wish I could put CM7 on my D2G, because, well, it's a LOT faster than the OG Droid.  I cannot currently try it, because I have to take my phone back into the store to get a replacement and want it to be unrooted for that, but once I get a working one, I would love to try it out.  Thanks for all the hard work!

I'm getting the feeling that this might only be a problem with an "upgrade" to the next nightly. I'll try a full wipe when I install the latest nightly today and see if that solves the problem and report back. It seems bizarre that it would only happen with two of us, but I haven't done any wipes since the initial nightly, so I'll cross my fingers and hope that's the issue.
