Hi,

First congratulations on your work... hope you'll continue it now that it's an oficial device here.

I managed to install everything with the help of ROM Manager, and when configuring stuff I noticed I couldn't reach any Mobile Network... so, mine is not a phone right now... it's some kind of a tablet with Wireless network on  :P .

I'll keep updates on this, my problems and how I managed to solve them if I can.
Please reply if there's a way to reach for my provider's mobile network.

Again, thanks and keep on rollin'

Jay

Hi Arlindo... last night I merged the
update-cm-7.1.0-RC1-U8220-signed.zip
over the base
CM_7.1.0_RC1_u8220_signed.zip

I zipped it all againd and transfered to sd card. ROM Manager did the rest.
I have my providers network assigned and it's a phone again finally

There's other things to fine-tune like recognizing properly the phone model etc... and camera, that's the catch!
I feel it is fast if you can live without annoying animations (I do)

Hugz... e um abraço :P

The phone model comes from the build.prop file... so it really doesn't make any difference :D. The camera is the next thing TomG is going to work on so hopefully we'll have a solution soon :P (have a look at the Modaco forum)
I also deactivate all animations. What I love about the Cm7 ROM is the Theme Chooser. There are some really spectacular themes for it.

Um abraço do Porto.

I have installed this ROM successfully and everything is running great, WiFi works, speed and stability are good... but I am also not getting any network connection. I have read the other thread about the missing files, but I'd hoped the latest patch would mean that this problem was resolved (I am confident about installing ROMs, but I have never replaced individual files).

Please let me know if I might be missing something?

BTW this was a clean install using CWM. Everything else I've tested on the ROM works (incl. flashed Gapps and downloaded apps), just no network :-(

Yayyy, my first Cyanogen post!
Ok, tried the version posted here, and even if it was working (and quite fast), it couldn't get to connect to my network, I'm using a U8220-6 unlocked, with Movistar Uruguay.
I will try dtox125 version :P.
A last question, what Gapps version are you using (I'm using the version provided on the previous thread), and how are you flashing it? right after flashing the main rom, or do you reboot, do the first boot, then flash after?

sorry for the crappy english, I refuse to use google translator :P

EDIT:Ok, network is working now, but after setting my google account, it asks for download of gapps, only Facebook and Twitter download fine, everything else fails, Market does work, but GMail & GMaps are missing (those are the ones I need most)

Thank you guys for your work! He is fairly fast and I'm happy with everything except the lack of a working camera and support for many languages. When will it be fixed?

To fix the camera is not easy. Someone should write a driver for our motherboard... :(

I have reflashed the new rom and it's working now. Looks better than the old one and has some good gimmicks. Beside the camera not working, the biggest drawback for me is the launcher. Whenever I start an app and press the home key to get to the home screen, it takes the launcher (ADW) up to 6 seconds to display it. Has anyone tried out a different launcher that worked faster?
