I'm using 6.0 stable & had issues staying connected to TMO's network. In fact, I was clearing off the phone, & going to reimage.

So, I went from the update marked 0831 to the second 0901 update, and now my phone won't connect to the T-Mobile network. I'm reflashing back to 0831 to see if that resolves the issue.

Anyone else not able to attach to tmo's network after updating to the 2nd 0901? Phone was working fine before I did the update.

That's not the way i do it.

I can add/remove apps from /system/app with a root file explorer, so i flash the tiny Gapps, remove the apps i don't want, add the ones i do want.

is there a tutorial for this kinda thing... well I read a few, but which one would you find savvy? :D

its much easier to just edit your gapps zip, and resign when your done

and its even easier if you use clockwork, as you don't need to resign

and once you have a gapps you like, you don't need to flash it each time ( as cm will backup and restore for you )

the gapps I use

I'm actually have better luck with Market on my G1 with 09022010 nightly, even with WiFi. I did turn my VM heap size down to 12. Don't know if that helped.

ah, thank you :)

Here's a quick tutorial;

Get a root file explorer, (i use estrongs file explorer).

Navigate to /system/app

Delete apk's you don't want. (Extract Gapps zip, copy apk's you do want into /system app)

Thats it!

Any deleted apk's from Gapps won't come back, unless you reflash a Gapps.
:D

Is it just me, or is the 09012010-081756 build (the second one for the day) wicked fast? I wonder if it's this change (from cmsrc on twitter):

bionic/froyo - Jim Huang * 0b91e6 - bionic: Add ARM optimized strcpy()... http://bit.ly/bmDeHC

You're right... wow it's really fast. I tested performance using quadrant benchmark and it return exactly the same points as before, so I don't have any evidence, it just feels faster.

I'm also testing many without any problems at all, I may even keep this instead of stable!

The gallery problem (rotating crooks pictures) seems to be partially solved, I say partially because rotating to portrait either side works, but returning to landscape sometimes doesn't, and a few times landscape doesn't work either.

Same problem on G1 : IN is working (WiFi), but Market timed out with the error message "pls check your network"

I must make a correction : it is not a problem of the market: Its a problem, that the WLAN is disabled after time, also if the WLAN set as active. In the settings I've set, that the WLAN never should be switch to Mobil-Lan. If I have the WiFi on, drive with the Metro and come home, the Wifi should be connected automaticaly to my home network. But it does not work anymore. I must switch off and on the Wifi, than its working again. That was the reason, that the market in my office does not work: Metro -> Office : I have not dis-,enabled the WiFi. The IN in the browser was the cache.

I've seen, that the energy control was changed. Now I have trashed the "old" one and add on the screen the "new" one - incl. all new settings. I'll observe this issue ...

Btw.: No Nightly Build from the 2/9 to the 3/9 ?

One question off topic, because the G2 was named in front:

What is in the moment the best new Android Mobile which is available for CM? (CPU Speed, Screen size, Memory .... and if it possible with an own keyboard (that was the reason that I make the IPhone G3 as a gift for my wife... the keyboard on screen is horrible for my finger))

The error is reproducable:
After Reboot the phone, the WLan was on and active. After time - the phone is in idle state (black screen) I "switch" it on and no WLAN is working anymore. The energyswitch for WLAN is still green and the icon on top indicate also an existing WLAN connection. But not bit comes in or goes out.
Also in the settings the WLAN looks like connected to the AP.

In Dev Tools under Connectivity the WiFI toogle timer are default, Cycle done=0
In Settings: WLAN: Advanced : the rules are set to NEVER switch to Mobil Networks
In Settings: Mobile Network Access : not allowed (Data active / Roaming: untagged // only 2G =tagged)

After Switch Off and on via energy-panel the WLAN is working again.
