Nightly build 237 is running great for me. In addition to the extra ram afforded by the new radio, my phone has never run better.

+1

Confirmed, right from boot this is snappy quick, and i flashed the rom and ezterrys kernel, no spoofSPL needed.

Amazing progress, thanks again. :D

Good point. I should have mentioned that I flashed ezterry's kernel along with 237. As a reminder to everyone who upgraded to the new radio, the stock nightly builds will bootloop with the new radio since the kernel isn't setup correctly. Make sure to flash ezterry's kernel.

I realize that your kernel is faster than this! may be because it is a .34
Greater autonomy as well. It's the same for you?

I gave the 15MB Hack a shot - I must admit, this really does work!
Superb work Terry.

I did a Nand backup and then restored in place of flashing a new rom/extras etc.
Hence I did nothing in terms or SpoofSPL or CustomMTD (although my mtdpart file had the 2005 spl spoof - I did not Flash the Fr-recovery nor the Fr-Boot) - it seems like my MTD partitions from prior to flashing new Radio / Hboot have retained, is this normal?

Cheers for the head up on this one, snice

Also whats the state on Ccache / Swap / VM Heap size... what's best to use now we have 112 RAM... hints and tips appreciated in advnace!
Are they needed?

Just a question to the wild, with regards to the new radio - has anyone seen any improvement in either signal quality or 2g/3g performance?

I think there is a radio improvement for me, download has gone from 1.8Mbps to 3.2Mbps (oops, not 32!), and upload from about 0.8Mbps to 1.8 Mbps.

This could be the network improving, and not the radio, so more reports are needed to confirm.

I can't imagine any device being perceivably quicker in action than this, yeh a few milliseconds maybe, but the dang thing is now quicker than me! Lol
:D

Nice one dude, i knew you'd like it lol.

I'm runnin with 12 or 32 for VM heap, noswap no CC, google silenced,, i believe the fastest way to run is on pure ram, when you have enough of it, and we do now.. hah :)

Edit, oh yeah, i do a shake test, which is; thumb on the screen and swipe up and down, this is the first time i couldn't 'lose' the screen, it's that responsive. Kool.

My 2708 patches applied to the most recent CM kernel [in my anykernel installer]:

ez-nightly236-cm-2708port_S.zip (md5: 3e5a205c42ee8c63abdc7aa015ffbcee)

SO, does this mean that I can open up this zip and replace the files inside mod -> 2.6.35.7cyanogenmod, with the most recent kernel from the nightlies, or pershoots then resign and flash in recovery. Then your scripts in "work" will patch it for me? If not, how would you recommend I use the .tar file in windows? is it possible? Thanks for your help.

Thank you for this CM Kernal Port.

The ONLY reason I favour this over any other kernal, is that this stock allows for CONSERVATIVE Scaling - which I've noticed to conserve battery much better then the minimal options present in other kernals.

This in turn proveides for a Longer Battery Life - it's true it does!

So I assume I can simply flash this version over any nightly from hereon and I'm good to go?

Much Appreciated eZ

??

The zip file is an update.zip that places the new kernel and modules into your existing rom removing any already there.

There is not much point in changing it.

As for the tar, it contains 3 txt files to be used with 'git am <file>' required to add the patch to the cm kernel source.. once applied build the kernel..

LOL sorry I was trying to clarify that the update.zip you posted will replace the existing nightly kernel with the kernel from nightly 236 that you extracted from the nightly, patched with your .tar, then put in your anykernel updater...... OR does it update(patch) the existing kernel with the required patches....

there is no extracting and patching of kernels going on

ezterry's kernel is compiled from the code the nightly 236 was + Ezterry's patch for 2708

the tar contains patch to the code so you can compile your own.
You don't need to worry about that, just flash ezterry's kernels

Or, learn how to compile you own kernel, start with the wiki
oh, and install Linux

no, not yet...i've just been cutting/pasting any affected apks into /data/app or /system/app (whichever is appropriate for the app) setting its permissions at rw-r--r-- and rebooting...that installs them for me

tried it with vending.apk, but that didnt solve the issue (just in case i needed to uninstall/reinstall it)

i'll survive, but its weird, you know?

I currently have 6.1 RC on my Rogers Magic 32A using the latest Pershoot kernel.

I have tried a number of times to flash different nightly builds using the clockwork recovery, including the latest one, but every time I flash a nightly I don't even get to the CM boot screen, it gets stuck on the carrier boot logo and never gets to the point that ADB even connects to it for a logcat.

I'm probably just missing some really simple part of the equation here. I don't absolutely need to get the nightlies on but it's kind of driving me crazy that I can't figure it out.

Thanks!

FireRat!

I'm sorry but can you explain this to me in simple terms, I have a Magic/Sapp 32B MT3G original, currently flashing nightlies and on 238. Using Amon RA 1.7 to do so, no special anything else. If I want to take advantage of this new radio w/more memory available, is this what do i do:

1) Flash the new radio and then flash EZTerry's kernel below?

2) Each time I flash a new nightly, repeat and rinse above?

TYVM in Advance!
Tom
