Given the recent explosion of nightly users, I understand your need for a place to discuss them, and/or ask if other users are having similar issues as you...this is that place

  • DO NOT: Post to the bug tracker
  • DO NOT: Open another thread (I will enforce this with temp bans)
  • DO NOT: Think of this as official forum support; this thread will be strictly user to user support. Don't expect CM-dev help.
** These CyanogenMod builds are highly experimental and unsupported.
**
** Please refrain from submitting bug reports for any issues
** you may encounter while running one of these builds.
**
** Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
** cause of male impotence.

There are at least 1,283 persons using it http://stats.cyanoge...nogenmod.com/  ;)
About the discussion, it started on XDA since the GS2 section only is here very short and on XDA it all started with the bounty thread and later that Atinm and codeworkx said that they where going to do it with teamhacksung.
Was looking here myself every day or 2 to see if the new section would show up for the GS2 and finally is.
Hope it will get more active here, on XDA tons of persons are writing in the wrong threads and keep asking questions that even can be found in the FAQ's or is said many times in the available topics.

XDA seems to be over run by by the SmartPhone hype and users that don't understand what XDA is/was about, nearly every topic gets spammed full with irrelevant info and 500 times the same question, and then even not counting the ETA questions.

My phone was delivered today, and of course it hay cyanogen on it by now. Finally a new Version, aftre support for my Sapphire was dropped ages ago!

Loving it of course, the only thing I have run into so far where I thought "woops, well that isn't working yet" is that home button seems to be without funktion. It wakes the phone up, but nothing else, doesn't return to home from apps, long press doesn't call the recent app menu etc.. But I can live with that untill it's fixed! ;)

EDIT: Reboot fixed the Home Button Issue, I take it all back ;-)

Guess no one can register for the update notification at this moment, yesterday late they just added the modem and nightly updates to Rom Manager, so think it's just waiting a while till it comes.
Since the nightlies are also for premium license only and the update notification also but that still has the nice red premium rom manager message show.

I'm getting a gs2 delivered in monday and will play with the stock firmware for approximately 30 minute's before flashing cyanogen mod.
I seriously can't use a phone without this rom.

You're not gonna regret it. Even when latest samsuck Rome are fast.
Cm7 is way smoother.

Do these nightly builds support ad-hock networks?

EDIT: Installing the latest one (23rd July) via CWM recovery as listed here softbricks my device every time. :(

First time I flashed to CM7 ( from GK2 rooted stock ), was stuck at the startup screen with  the yellow triangle. Had to do a wipe and then reflashed. Did the trick for me. Updated to the July 23rd build through  CM recovery with no problems though. Latest build seems to have fixed the DSP FC's I've been having with the previous one.

Im new to the Android scene, as the SGS II is my first Android phone. Having used the TouchWiz-based ROM'S ( was on stock for a week, then tried Litening, then VillainROM), I can say that I'm quite happy with CM7 for the SGSII, despite still being in its experimental stage. And I'm  loving the Gestures feature with the lockscreen :)

I keep getting stuck at the startup screen as well. I did a full wipe with CWM, flashed both normal and dalvik cache. Did whole thing twice with no success.

I get that on every ROM, even stock. Both that and the setup wizard crashing.
