Hi,
apart the Bluetooth audio issue, would you consider build 20+ "ready" to use on a daily base ? I'm really missing the Toggle2G app...

my term of paragon is 7.1 RC1 for HTC Desire (killed by my cat ^_^ )
Thanks

With stock samsung rom i was able to play 720p videos h264 mkv's ([email protected]) without problems, upgrading to cm7 nightlies displays artifacts playing the same video files, anyone know why?

Could someone help me with how to attempt to manually mount my "external_sd" card? I found a post a couple pages back with a link that says "mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p11 /mnt/sdcard", but this is obviously not for the external SD. Tried to just switch the end to "/mnt/sdcard/external_sd" but that did not work, instead my sdcard disappeared :-)
Running nightly #20

it's not located there, it's located at /mnt/emmc

So is this how I would enter it then: "mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p11 /mnt/emmc"? Because this does not work for me, it just mounts the "internal" sd for me. Hopefully this is resolved soon as I store all my media on a sd card and so far have had to deal with just not playing any music.

Apart of my previous question, anybody knows which "features" do CM7 kernel offers, compared to kernels like SpeedMod (http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1182498) ?

Thanks

You shouldn't have to force-mount it. Your SD card is located at /mnt/emmc automatically.

# cat /proc/mounts | grep mmc
/dev/block/mmcblk0p9 /system ext4 rw,relatime,barrier=1,data=ordered 0 0
/dev/block/mmcblk0p7 /cache ext4 rw,nosuid,nodev,noatime,barrier=1,data=ordered 0 0
/dev/block/mmcblk0p10 /data ext4 rw,nosuid,nodev,noatime,barrier=1,data=ordered,noauto_da_alloc,discard 0 0
/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 /efs ext4 rw,nosuid,nodev,noatime,barrier=1,data=ordered 0 0
/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 /mnt/.lfs j4fs rw,relatime 0 0
/dev/block/vold/179:17 /mnt/emmc vfat rw,dirsync,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,uid=1000,gid=1015,fmask=0602,dmask=0602,allow_utime=0020,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1,shortname=mixed,utf8,errors=remount-ro 0 0

Last line is the mount point for an add-on sdcard.

Below is what i'm showing, so why does it show up here but when in root explorer the external_sd folder is empty? Sorry for this, I haven't dealt with Linux for about 8yrs and even then I wasn't so hot at it :-)

/mnt/sdcard/external_sd/ is empty because your external SD card isn't mounted there. It's mounted at /mnt/emmc. So if you direct Root Explorer to the /mnt directory, you will see a folder name `emmc` and if you go in there, you'll see what's on your external SD card.

Same as @adamsuail with #23, haptic feedback ceases after a short time. Rebooting brings it back again but not for long.

Reflashing doesn't help.

Back to #20.

On a plus side I think 23 had a bit more responsive homescreen, but that could have been because I had no widgets on it.

Thanks for the great rom guys :)

Have not had any issues with haptic feedback in #24. Been using it for a few hours now.

Got a rooted SGS2 currently on Lite'ning ROM. Do you consider #24 to be a suitable every day option?
thanks.

For me it is, but you could be different. I was using Lite'ning rom 5.0 before switching over to cm7 and really haven't had any issues at all. I don't use Bluetooth though and am not sure if that issue has been resolved either. The best thing I would say for you is to backup your current rom with cwm recovery and then try it out. If you don't like it you can then just restore it back to Lite'ning. I personally like them both, but prefer the tweaks and customization allowed with cm7. Hope that helps

Using the July 24th build of CM7, and been happy with it so far. Though I've been getting weird diminishing of the vibration intensity ( both haptic and general vibrations). Rebooting the phone seems to restore the vibration intensity, then diminishes again after sometime. At first i though it was related to the battery level, now I think its trigerred by an app that I would launch or something. Anyone else experiencing this?
I'm using the last build as of today (#23) and I'm experiencing the same issue with the vibration. After an hour of intense use (navigating, playing, installing, etc.) the vibration suddenly disappears. Rebooting the phone seem to restore vibration to normal...
Well, I just wanted to share my experience:
  • Vibration seems to vanish after some intense use,
  • Heat is not a big problem by now,
  • I've been playing N64oid 2.2 and it works better than with the factory build,
  • I've been playing N64oid 2.2 through Wii controller IME (using my wiimote) and worked really neat,
  • Data network (3G/HSDPA/GPRS) seems to be a little bit buggy. Data network signal seems to be weaker than with the factory build, and sometimes it suddenly disconnects - I don't know if this is a problem of mine, since I could have reached my download limit, although that shouldn't mean I get disconnected, just speed-limited...
  • Sound is much more powerful now, and I haven't touched the EQ yet,
  • I've installed and successfully used Market, WhatsApp, Gmail, Firefox 6.0Beta, Youtube, Mobo video player, Google Maps with the GPS...
  • Camera stucks the music when switching between front/rear camera or video mode. I don't know if this happens with the factory build.
  • Built-in calculator is crap from my point of view. At least in Spanish, text labels go out from the screen...
  • Spanish translation is not very good, but anyway the factory build's translation is really disappointing. You can read somewhere, about RAM usage, "x megabytes gratis"... given that "free" is translated as "gratis", but "gratis" only means that something has cost zero, not that it is available.
  • I've had to reboot a couple of times because some apps didn't start up.
  • Some mount points will change: external SD card will now hang from /mnt/emmc/. (That has been pointed out by some of you previously)
  • When calling, the first time I did it some process or service stopped working (I haven't gotten it again, but it said something about android.DSP...? stopped working.
Clockwork MOD works fine and I've had to restore to factory a couple of times, without problems.

I'm encountering some probems with the lockscreen. Really often with the screen locked pressing the home key I have to wait like 5 seconds before the screen turns on.
Now the phone is charging and the unlocking is working well

I'd also like to add that with the factory build I could have these network states: G, 3G, H and also H+, which I assume to be HSPA+...
I'm not getting H+ anymore :( although it could be a naming issue.
