I have the same problem, it just started out of the blue one day. I tried factory reset/wipe dalvik cache/installing the latest nightly but there's no change. Additionally the torch app cannot turn on the camera flash led and the charging led does not come up when it's plugged into the either the usb or wall charger

If you're using CWM as your recovery, try performing a wipe of the /system also before you flash CM. If you're using AmanRa, I believe you have to flash an "ExtremeWipe" file Temasek created. I use CWM and wiped everything when moving from CM6 to CM7 nightly and everything is working perfectly.

I tried doing the system and data wipe, I also backed up the stuff on the SD card and wiped that as well in a long shot. No change

What version is your radio/baseband (Settings -> About Phone -> Baseband)? We go off the two sets of numbers after the underscore "_". Something like 4.06 or 5.08...

It's 5.08.00.04

I also just followed this guide:
http://forum.xda-dev...tore_your_Nexus

to go back to a base copy of Froyo and the problem exists there. It's really strange that the flash just keeps going off at random times but the camera won't work

Did any of you find a fix for your screen during a call and camera flash?

Thanks guys -- I have had the exact same symptoms (out-of-the-blue or maybe after a very short fall of ~ 2 feet?). Next day, the phone causes a temp freeze and the "Force close" error option window, and flashlight doesn't work. Also, like previous post, sometimes (50% now) of calls force the screen to go blank. Just out of warranty period by two weeks. I will give up software & firmware solutions now that I see they were fruitless. Thanks....time for a new phone.

Do yourselves a favor and reflash stock Android. CM is incredibly unstable, and while they removed the stock bloatware they just added in bloatware of their own. The number one and number two reasons to flash a mod ROM are to increase stability and remove bloatware, both of which are worse in CM than in stock Android.
