I had the same thing happen to me over a year ago and a TM rep said the phone has a hidden text message cap and deletes all texts when this is reached. Why they don't tell people this is beyond me. Sucks to find out the hard way. Better off backing up your texts using something like My Backup Pro or Root. Once I installed CM, did not have a problem.
