Hey Builders,

Great work !! It's amazing fast and almost stable enough....besides....

I've got an issue with my network connection on 3G. Even after disabling APN or even disable/enable mobile network, it won't connect. General connection is stable at about -90db and data connection on CM5 on my girl-friends 32b is working.

adb logcat for enabling:
D/NetworkSettings(  179): onPreferenceTreeClick: preference == mButtonDataEnabled.
D/ConnectivityService( 105): setMobileDataEnabled(true)
D/ConnectivityService( 105): getMobileDataEnabled returning false
W/BackupManagerService( 105): dataChanged but no participant pkg='com.android.providers.settings' uid=1001
D/ConnectivityService( 105): starting up Mobile data state: CONNECTING
D/DataConnectionTracker( 179): enableApnType(default), isApnTypeActive = true and state = DISCONNECTING
D/DataConnectionTracker( 179): setEnabled(0, true) with old state = false and enabledCount = 0
D/ConnectivityService( 105): getMobileDataEnabled returning true
D/SettingsAppWidgetProvider( 422): buildUpdate done for widget:4
D/DataConnectionTracker( 179): EVENT_APN_ENABLE_REQUEST 0, 1
D/DataConnectionTracker( 179): dataEnabled = false, enabledCount = 0, isApnTypeActive = true
D/CELLLAYOUT( 181): onMeasure!!! portrait=true
Thanks for any help !
I guess i'll reboot soon.

Uh oh...i hope this is not seen as a bug report :-)

Does this mean we will see the new 'Interactive' governor in the coming CM6 builds?
Ninpo is also using this in his new 1.2 Froyo kernels.

Hi. I have been testing the nightleys a bit and all i can say is great work!.
but i have a few issues.

i have been testing 08112010-191619.zip.

1. Battery life seems quiet bad. (i went from 98% to 14% in one evening + night)
2. the gps dies after about 15 mins. i had to quit and restart google navigation then it was perfect... 10-15 mins later it was dead again. (thats when i stopped using it.)

Hi all,

About the very latest nightly, the one that should have the camera fix, so this one: cm_hero-08122010-005744.zip

- Camera is not working. Live preview works, but when taking a picture it hangs and screen stays black.
- Battery live is really not good. Went to bed with 93% (data sync off, wifi off, 3G off, gps off). Completely drained and switched off this morning (after only 5 hours of sleep). So no wake up alarm... :-)

The build made by Lox and posted on 4shared does work fine... According to Lox, his build should be the same as the build by the buildbot, but it is different in size and camera does work fine in his build. Don't know about battery.

Yeah i'm on the 4shared ROM posted by Lox and the camera is good :)

The only thing I have seen so far is that I sometimes get a random static orange LED. So far it seems to stick on from having been on charge. When unplugged from the mains/USB it just stays orange until I reboot :S

Also, not too keen on the notification LEDs, as they are a static orange and flashing green on top. What are other people's thoughts?

I'm not so sure about the notification LEDs either, I think it makes it less obvious than how they used to behave for me on a Sense ROM. I think it previously used to just flash green for LED notifications for me, but I'm not 100% sure. I don't believe this can be changed in the CyanogenMod settings can it?

Yes, on Sense ROMs it is just a flashing green LED. But I've never seen it working like that on all the AOSP ROMs I have tried. I think that's why on some of the newer 2.1 ROMs there is no LED notification and instead the Trackball works.

...seems this could be why - http://www.villainro...php?f=45&t=2779

Ninpo @ VillainROM

"I haven't got around to chatting with Lox about this yet, but I don't like how the proprietary liblights works with 2.2. It only lights up the battery light, it stays on and flickers when notifying instead of straight blinking and it does a weird thing when you boot up where if you disconnect USB after boot, it stays red until you reconnect again.

So I built some drivers that use the Jogball for notifications and the LED sticks to what the LED does best: bitching when your battery is low."

If we can borrow and get his drivers built into CM6 that'd be ideal.

Same bug here after updating my build with the same proprietary files than nighty builds.
I have a full logcat from boot if someone require it. I put it there.

This bug only appears for picture mode. In video mode, it's working.

Hi David

I see you also suffer from:

E/wpa_supplicant(  191): Set_key: Wrong Key
E/wpa_supplicant(  191): Set_key: Wrong Key
E/wpa_supplicant(  191): Set_key: Wrong Key
E/wpa_supplicant(  191): Set_key: Wrong Key

These seem to cause unstable wifi connections for me... Have been on different type of wifi networks:

- wpa / psk
- wpa2 / .1x eap...

both unstable, and every time I noticed these Set_key error messages...

Are you suffering from unstable wifi connections as well?

Rgs,

Hey guys

The GPS issue is probably due to the akmd daemon being incredibly buggy.  Grab my Froyd 1.2.1 zip and pull the akmd from it and push it to your phone in /system/bin and reboot.

Should sort the GPS dying problem.

re Exchange ActiveSync going crazy: running cm_hero-08162010-011355.zip, the email client frequently goes crazy.

I haved tracked it down to my exchange 2003 server returning pingstatus=8 (8 is apparently a generic error from the server).  my only current workaround is to turn off wifi and mobile data when not needed.

I am unsure if this is a fault of the server config, or a bad command being sent by the client.  don't know where to look next

Since flashing the Cyanogen build that he posted a few days ago I've noticed very poor data performance when not on Wifi. Anyone else seen similar? Not investigated enough to know whether its related to that image or if I've got another issue that I need to resolve.

No problem with Wifi for me (since I'm on CM6).
If you look after these errors (received at boot time), you'll never see them again.
I got some of "V/WifiMonitor(  118): Event [WPA: Group rekeying completed with 00:18:39:21:2e:40 [GTK=CCMP]]" but no wpa errors.

Regards,
David

I'm not sure if I posted about this, but I was seeing some strange battery drain problems but I think I've fathomed out what this is - the Power Tools widget offers a Flashlight option, it seems if I use that in a morning then my battery drains like mad afterwards. This morning I used the old "Color Flashlight" app that I had installed and it hasn't drained in the same way.

Hi nightly addicts  :P

In the latest couple of builds, I was thinking that there was supposed to be a fix for the camera? Mine has live previews but when taking a picture, image stays black and app does not write to SD so it seems...

Are there people with a fully working camera in the latest builds? Just installed the build from the 18th, and also here no working cam.

If some hero's have a working cam and some of them don't with the same build, could it be that there are hardware differences between the GSM hero's?
Or, could it be because my SD still has an ext partition (though not used at the moment)?

Thx

Hi, Here's my bug list, which repeats some of what others here are saying:

1) Since the 10th, the akmd process is regularly using lots of CPU and draining the battery.

2) the camera can shoot video but still images are not being saved.

3) It can take up to three button presses to wake from standby.

4) I only get a 3g icon, not HSDPA.

All problems exist for me on my T Mobile Hero running the build from the 18th. Let me know how I can help.

Thank you.
