Previous screen visible briefly before unlock

I have my device set to use the pattern to unlock the screen. When the screen is locked, I find that if I hit the power button or trackball, whatever was on the screen when the phone got locked flashes up briefly before the pattern unlock screen appears. I can't interact with it, but it still seems like (a) a bit of a glitchy UI (b) a possible privacy concern.

Using CM 7.1.0 RC1 for HTC Desire GSM.
