Are you able to put together an ubuntu bootanimation? anything really even something really simple I wouldn't care.

This is a boot I grabbed off of XDA a while back. I can't remember who created it but if I do I will post there name. http://www.mediafire...qbapq55fwx68fzv
I'm thinking about making my own ubuntu styled boot using the verbose boot from ubuntu. I'll post when it's ready.

Pull it from the cm5.0.8 zip and push it to /data/local or /system/media

Houka -- the pencil -apple+android one works great --  my firm is entirely iphone run (for now) and at a meeting I left my G1 on the table and had it reboot, and one of the partners picks it up and watches the apple be erased... he says :"Hey!  can I get this on my iphone"

I said... no... no can do, steve jobs says no no no!  so no!

I believe you helped me deliver a message...  "time to ditch your iphones and go with Android!"

im making a boot animation and i have it working but when it is playing part1, im assuming, it keeps flashing a white screen

It's because you have "Thumbs.db" in your images directory, created when you view the images as thumbnails. To delete it:
* In folder with desc.txt, select View, details.
* Go into the folder with your images (eg part0) and select view details
* Tools, folder options, view, show hidden files and folders
* Delete Thumbs.db
* Repeat for part1 etc
* You can now hide hidden files again if you wish
* Re-zip your files and try pushing them again

Hi,
here is Tutorial on how to do it. It has actually nothing to do with the OS you are running:

http://www.addictive...imation-guide/

However, I followed a tutorial and created a custom bootanimation and if I push it to the /data/local it won't show up on booting. Instead, a black screen displays and than it goes directly into the home application. Anybody could help? I've read somewhere, that the ZIP file has to be in some way special, but cannot find the thread anymore? Is it a normal ZIP file?
