It happens to me a lot.
I receive a call, I answer, I don't hear anything, the caller hears me. (it's not his problem because it happened with a lot of people)
Usually, I hang up, call back/wait to be called back, and the second call works.

I think that this happens mainly when I answer very fast.

Anyone else having this problem?

This happens for a while now, I tried a lot of nightlys.

this issue seems to appear sporadically and only for some users

please post some more info before attempting to fix it (since there doesn't exist much info yet about this issue & thus it's hard to reproduce and fix):

- modem
- carrier + country
- network mode (2g ? 3g ?)
- anything else related & important you might think of

ok, on to some attempts to "fix" it:

- reflash modems 2 times
- try different modem
- try different network mode (e.g. from 2G to 3G or the other way around)
- mute & unmute caller volume
- ...

This also happens to me on JVR, Orange RO, 2G. I too have noticed that this seems to happen when I answer too fast. As a side note, it didn't happen that often on Stable with the same modem, but when Stable suddenly decided to bootloop on me, I switched to the latest nightly.

I have this problem fairly often with 7.1.0 stable JVK modem, US, 3G:HSDPA ...  I had the problem when running various nightlies, so I rolled back to 7.1.0 stable thinking it would help.

I've tried to reproduce it by calling myself from another phone, but so far it has been too random for me to duplicate it that way.

Interesting points here about not answering the phone too quickly - I will start letting my phone ring a few times before I answer it... it does seem like it may happen when I answer right away.
I will also try HOLD / UNHOLD if it does happen.

If it were not for this issue, CM7.1 would be flawless for my purposes.

I let the phone ring at least twice for each call I got, still had one call with no audio.  HOLD / UNHOLD fixed the problem.

This happened again today, could not hear the caller when I answered.   Hold/unhold made it so that I could hear the caller.

Happens to me also on Modem: JVK and JVT
Approx one out of 20 calls - Sometimes twice close together and sometimes after a long time.

Running Nightly 179 but also happened on the stable 7.1

Read a tip to change the Recording Preset in the Voodoo Control App to Original.
Don't know if this fixes the problem but it's worth a try.

The easiest method to overcome this issue is to Hold and Unhold the caller. You can hear the person right after.

Guys,
The hold and unhold is not a solution to the problem. It's a solution to the symptom.
You can get by with it most of the time. Frequently the caller disconnects by the time you unhold.

If anyone has 7.1 RC installed and not a nightly - please issue a bug:
http://code.google.c...od/issues/entry
(I tried to open one on the WIFI issue and it got rejected because I had a Nightly).

I don't have this issue so far (3 days) after I changed the Recording Preset in the Voodoo Control App to Original.
Need to give it more time before I can say that it fixes the problem though.

Update: I was happy too soon. The problem came back after the fourth day. A phone reset seems to make it go away for some time.
