hhb_test2.zip seems to have solved this problem on my device:
http://code.google.c.../detail?id=4681
A coworker has the same phone, version and operator.
He does not have this problem.
The only difference between us is the dialer app we are using.
I am using GoDialer, but then another app monitoring phone calls might be interfering.
Just a guess...

I've been using i9000 since 2 years. I tried lots of different roms and I never had any call quality problems. But I live call quality problems with cm7.
Even though that it works amazingly fast , I have to say goodbye to cm7.

@yaronkle
Thanks for the info. Flashed hhb_test2.zip about two weeks ago. Since then no "HelloHello" bug occured. Usually got it several times a day, so I guess it's fixed. :-)
