Just updated to stable cm7.1 and everything else is fine but my camera keeps force closing.

Anyone else experiencing the same.... I am using a M250S by the way ( in case that make a difference)

I have no idea what a M250S is.. however, seeing as this is the Galaxy S2 forum.. other users have reported a 'fix permissions' has resolved the camera FC issue. Perhaps try that.

Here are the current reported fixes for the camera force closing in video mode:
  • Fix permissions
  • Clear Google Services Framework data and reboot
  • Move old videos out of the DCIMG folder
  • Install Camcorder Shortcut App from the market and use this to launch the camera once. After that the Camera should work normally.
For the record I've tried all of them but No. 4 finally worked for me.

I have the same camcorder issue. I tried only step 4, although this "camcorder shortcut" application runs, it does not allow me to record. Then I switch to CM7 camera and switch to camcorder and it crash again :(

Could you please tell me step by step how can I do step 1 & 2?, since I dont understand quite well how to do it:
  • Fix permissions
  • Clear Google Services Framework data and reboot
Thanks in advance.

even after #4, problem persists... (launching through the shortcut app occasionally works.. but still not a fix)

I tried at home deleting all the videos created with previous ROM (touchwiz), and it is working correctly! I could not be happier!

I was searching high and low for solutions to my camcorder FC issues. I did #3 and it works!! Thank you so much. So far there aren't any issues regarding CM7 on my phone and I hope it stays that way.

My camera keeps FC'ing aswell, tried all of the 4 options above, no luck.

When i start the camera, it default starts with the back-camera. When i switch to the front-camera, and back to the back-camera, i can take pictures without problems.. when i relaunch the app, same problem, and i need to switch to front-cam and back again before i can take pictures. Recording video's gives no problems.

Anyone has a solution for this maybe?

-edit- i am running Nightly #81 (update almost every time) but i have this issue since nightly #20 or something like that. At first i thought it was a known bug, but i cannot find anyone else with the same  problems, so i'm thinking its just me (or at least just a few people). Any help would be really appreciated.

I had this problem as well, and got it solved (at least for now) by starting the camera and klicking on "Default settings" (or "Gjenopprett standardinnstillinger" as it's called in Norwegian.)
This option can be found on the bottom of the popup-menu that shows when you click on the most right button.
(I uploaded a video on youtube with my solution, it can be seen here: )

Tries #1, #2, #3 in that order.  #3 solved the problem for me.  Camcorder works fine now.  Thank you very much.
