Prime's deprimed, been running it with max at 1100MHz since I updated from RC1, and had it running stable for about  2 weeks with RC1.  That was the first time I had flashed a new kernel despite using Cyanogen for over a year.  No issues at all, and very speedy.

STAY AWAY FROM CHEVYNo1 KERNELS!  They use to be the best!  But right now they cause more problems than they fix.  Primarily being 3g reception.  Running stock 7.1 stable and I have no problems.  I get a strong 3g signal even though it has been a problem in the last couple of nightly builds.  However when I try to flash one of the chevy kernels on top of 7.1 I can't get and hold a 3g signal.  The problem is even worse when I make or receive calls.  Conversations will drop consistently almost every 20 seconds.  Same thing happens with the ulv lv and medium kernels.  I'm referring to the build that you can download from Clockwork which is dated 5/31/2011.

I was running Primed + V6 on 7.1.0 RC1. updated to 7.1.0 stable and have just been using the stock kernel. REALLY happy with the performance right now. haven't tried playing with the big apps like maps, games, and whatnot... right now I don't see a need to change kernels. has anyone else been trying anything?

I've been using the stock kernel with Milestone Overclock.  Running at 1200mHz (80vsel), and it's running very smoothly.

I tried Deprimed kernel last night and apparently lost all ability to make & receive phone calls. Needless to say, when I got suspicious this morning and texted my girlfriend, it was true. Not sure if it was user error. Unrelated question: with the milestone overclock, can you change the vsel to essentially make the stock kernel run at ULV?

UPDATE: Been running ChevyNo1 ULV 1.0 for the past few hours and seems to be working fine. Phone is very snappy, temps seem to be stable, no FCs so far. I'll update if the situation turns south..

UPDATE #2: Turns out the wifi isn't working with Chevyno1, not sure which kernel to try next.

OK, so I must be not too bright, but how do I install a kernel to the ROM and use it?  I dont want to try this without knowing what to do.

chevyno1 working for me. I'd prefer to use deprimed, but i need to use 125MHz (lowest available is 250MHz) to keep battery life while screen is off. Stock still seems to be better battery life though, but only slightly.

EricFerretttt, I see you're already rooted with clockworkmod. Rommanager is probably the easiest way to change kernels. Open the app, select Download ROM Select the kernel you want from within the list of mods provided and download it. When its finished downloading you'll be prompted about wiping and backing up. A backup would be safe, do not wipe data and cache because you're not replacing the OS, just the kernel. I also wipe dalvik cache. Your phone will reboot, load the kernel/backup, and reboot. Install an app like setcpu to see/select speeds.

This functionality is actually built into CyanogenMod now. The only advantage that overclocking applications provide is that they allow you to set up profiles so that you can underclock when the screen is off, etc...

With the performance increase with 7.1, I've been really satisifed with just using the stock CM kernel at 800MHz. I just keep my phone pretty minimal (you kind of have to since the hardware is dated at this point) and I manage to definitely get ~2 days of battery out of it without even trying to fool with overclocking profiles.

I've been running Chevy No 1 low voltage 1.0 GHz for a couple of days with no problems so far.  Tried a slayher kernel at 1Ghz but it kept rebooting about 2 seconds after it loaded the homescreen.

Mmm, I really like Chevy's kernels and Prime's (Primed and Depriimed) kernels on my Droid1, but it seems that under CM7.1 Stable, wireless tether only works with the stock kernel.  That said, with the stock kernel, performance is not too bad bad, and overheating is a non-issue, and it seems everything works.

I've been having some problems and I wanted to try using a different kernel. I checked ROM manager as you stated here, but it doesn't look like it has any kernels. Just the basic stuff like superuser, Google apps, and a few ROMs. Is there any other way to do this?

Hello guys!
I've bought some Droid 1's, and flashed them to
But the problem is when I change frequency to 800MHz and check the "Apply on reboot" box, after reboot I still have 600MHz and unchecked box :(
Please - give me the link to 100% working on  update-cm-7.1.0-Droid-signed.zip  1ghz kernel !
Thanks a lot!
