Yesterday I installed cyanogen stable mod for the nexus s 4g.
Today is the first day trying it. Intermittently, when the screen is blank, asleep, I'm unable to awaken it. Normally push the power button, and the screen lights up. Not now! Calling the phone lights up the screen. Removing the battery, restart, also works. Sometimes just wait for a while, then the screen will light up.
Any ideas?

gilson 585;
Thanks for the suggestion. I installed Softlocker, but same problem. Sounds like the same problem exists in the Experimental Mod as well.

I think I had the same issue on 7.1.0. The newer 7.1.0.1 doesn't seam to have the same problem from what I've seen.

I have always loved CyanogenMod, but this bug has already caused me to almost miss a college class by "blacking out" and preventing my alarm from waking me up, on top of doing the same thing and missing very important text messages (apparently, it receives SMS and clears them from the network while it's blacked out, but neglects to show them after a battery pull), so I'm going to have to go back to stock until it's ironed out.

Once I see more posts like this:

I'll be back in no time. (Thanks ilongbored for chiming in, by the way.) This ROM rocks, but I have to be able to rely on my phone, and this bug definitely keeps me from doing that...

I found out it was one of my apps not playing nicely with cm7 and now have no issues.

I'm having the exact same issue. Almost got me in BIG trouble today as the alarm didn't wake me up. Wtf. Also 4g toggle widget in status bar isn't working for me. And when long pressing the 4g widget in the status bar it force closes status bar. Oh and when using torch and pressing the power button to lock the phone the flash flashes constantly like every second. When screen is awake it stays on just fine. Weird.

Dang, I don't use that one. How could I use the logs to figure out what's misbehaving? I'd like to figure it out so I can safely get back to CyanMod...

I'm having the same issue.  I've uninstalled both my timers and stopwatches and we'll see.
