I own the HTC Aria and I am running cyanogenmod 7.1.0 and I will be watching my phone and it will be connected to wi-fi and all of a sudden it will be disconnected and running on mobile data.
I have even stood right by the wireless router and it has awesome signal, and it will just disconnect. Does anyone have any suggestions??

Go into wireless settings, press menu, then advanced and set wifi sleep policy to never sleep. Thats usually the problem with wifi disconnecting. Or try another kernel and see if your wifi performance improves.
Another thing...if you post on here with a question and don't get help, look on xda-developers. There are a lot more android devs to help out there. It usually does more good than posting 3 threads here with the same topic

Well, I just changed it and it when I looked at the setting it was set to put wi-fi to sleep everytime the screen turned off. That explains a lot!! Thanks for your help, and the only reason I posted a second time was because my first one was very generic and I wasn't sure how to delete it and I didn't know I could edit it until now, and so I just posted a second time.

I'm also experiencing wifi drops on my Aria. I've changed the settings for wifi sleep (which shouldn't affect it if the screen isn't off) and still lose wifi connection. Even when it detects my router, it takes forever to get an ip. I never had this problem with the HTC froyo ROM. Is this an issue with CM7 or is there some other setting I need to tweak?
Thanks.
Thanks.
