Hi, this is my first post, so please go easy on me if this is a stupid question or something that has been fixed.

I've got a Samsung Mesmerize that I have installed CM7.1 on via CWM. It is working well, except for one issue: I can't send texts. I can receive them, but whenever I send them, they turn out blank.

I tried flashing the EE19 modem via Odin, but that left me with no service at all, so I flashed back to EH09.

Is there anything else I can try to get this figured out?

Thanks!

EDIT: I did a bit more reading up, and this seems to be a common issue that has been somewhat resolved.

After flashing the EE19, I received absolutely no signal as well. I found a fix on XDA - simply dial 911. When the dispatcher calls your phone back, you'll know you've fixed it :P

Oh god.

After flashing multiple modems and trying a custom Cyanogenmod build to fix a modem issue, calling 911 and letting the dispatcher call me back fixed my no signal issue!

This is terrible! There has to be a better way. I'm never going to be able to flash new stuff because I don't want to call 911 again.

I have flashed the EI20 radio, and I have no texting problems. Mms is another story.

i used to have issues with mms as well until i found on another forum a somewhat-type of "fix." if you can navigate to your system/etc/ppp directory, and you find only one file, you may need more to get mms working. i'll leave these here for a bit.

I am having problems texting from my mesmerize with CM7.1 and EI20. I can receive texts but I cant send them. I looked around and found out that my SMSC number is not carrying over to Cyanogen. I have tried using *#*#4636#*#* to "Refresh" the smsc, but it stays blank. If I install Phillipp Mangelow's Network app while using the stock ROM, I still can't see the smsc number. I can't find the number anywhere on the internet. I can't possibly be the only one having this problem.
My carrier is US Cellular. I found a list of SMSCs for every other carrier except mine. The CyanogenMod Wiki that I used to root this specific phone and carrier doesn't even have the SMSC number for US Cellular listed on its page about SMSC numbers. What is going on here??? Somebody help...

I am having the exact same problem and running into the same wall. I have looked everywhere for US Cellular's SMSC number. I will try calling them during business hours and see if their reps have any idea what it is. I also noticed that someone with 7.2 is still having this issue. I am going to flash 7.2 and will update to see if this makes a difference. http://forum.cyanoge...exting-problem/

Edit: It did not help. Same problem. Whatever you do, don't dial *228 to program the phone in hopes of the SMSC number being filled in because now I have no service. Edit: Turning radio off and on got my service back at least.

CDefense. ever have any luck?  I'm running CM7.2 on US Cellular as well. I've tried several modems, but outgoing txts never work.

I just ended up using a version of 7.1 fixed for the EH09 radio. The file was called update-cm-7.1.0-EH09-Mesmerize-signed.zip. http://rapidlibrary....ewn9xifmon.html
