Left Boston and shut down phone.  Landed in Chicago and powered on, everything fine.  Powered down when leaving for Seattle.  Landed in Seattle and turned on phone to find no data.  Phone shows 3G/H connection but bars never change color indicating a Google connection.  I can make calls and receive text messages.

Wiped cache and dalvic and reflashed ROM.

I am completely lost.  Really need the data to navigate because I have never been here before and need to get around!

Update and it just gets crazier.  Went to T Mobile and got a new SIM card but that didn't do anything.  SO I spent the whole trip on WiFi.  Flew back to Boston and turned on the phone and got connected for about a minute then lost it.  Having spent the previous week without it I ignored it for a few hours while we got home and got the 4 year old to bed.  Took out my phone and I was connected!  Have been for days no, problem...
Except I am now dropping to the Edge network just sitting on the couch.  I watch the "H" bars drop to zero then the "E" shows up.  While my wife sits 1 foot away with perfect 3G on her Motorola Defy.
I am still completely lost.

Just flashed Pershoot's latest and no change, was thinking it might be a voltage issue.  Any other suggestions?  I am reluctant to try T Mobile's tech support as it could be CM related....  Or tired, old hardware?

Go to http://mediafire.com/temasek and download his system-only format zip. Flash that, then reinstall CM and gapps and see if that fixes your problem. This shouldn't cause any data loss.

I got an error, something about, "Amend scripting is no longer supported."
I went to Passion>Misc>format-system-only.zip
Was the the correct file?  I am using CWM recovery.

I am wondering if I posted that in the wrong post (or just wasn't paying enough attention when I wrote it). But you actually don't need that file, as it is only required for people running Amon_RA's recovery. ClockworkMod has the option to wipe /system right in the recovery (under the mounts and storage menu). Do that, then reinstall CM and gapps and see if it fixes your problem. If not, we may have to do a full wipe (but you can back up your apps and app data with a program like Titanium Backup... just don't restore any system settings as it could bring your problems back).

I am hoping to avoid the full wipe...
I used to run Amon_Ra but Rom Manager is so nice.
Thanks for the info!

I've lost my data connection again.  I had data this morning then by mid morning it was gone.  Phone shows 4 bars but they never cjange color.  I have already:
swapped sim card
reboot again and again and...
pulled battery
wiped /system using recovery

I have read here that even a full wipe might not do it but I'll try later today when I have the time.
T Mobile stores are no help, the recommend HTC customer service but I doubt they will help a CM customer.

5.08, I'm pretty sure that is correct?
I called HTC and was on the phone for over an hour.  Ended up doing a factory reset and still nothing.
Their final option was to send it in.  With the Galaxy Nexus rumored to be out Friday and my wife wanting a better network I will just suffer along and see what happens.
