Having an issue with USB tether, running a Droid A855 with CyanogenMod 7.10 stable and a 1.1GHz kernel. everything works GREAT and I love this rom, however, I was never able to successfully USB tether for the longest time I thought that my phone had been affected by some water it got into. When plugged in debugging mode successfully connects, and it charges from both wall charger and USB charger but no data connectivity. It wont even prompt me to turn on USB mass storage. Wondering if anyone else has the same issue or not wasn't a huge deal to me but when I put this rom on my friends phone and it did the same thing I realized it wasn't just my phone, he also has an A855. Any help is MUCH appreciated!!

Could be a couple of things.  I moved on to the RAZR so I haven't played with my OG Droid in a while but make sure your USB supports data.  I lost my original one and bought another USB charging cable and that's all it does...just charges, no data.  Had to use my PS3 cable with an adaptor and it worked fine.  Also issue could be the kernel.  Did you install the kernel on your friend's too?  Try it with stock kernel.
