Update 6 Feb 2012: I got my camera working! As it was past the warranty, I took the chance to open it after reading these guides: http://www.ifixit.co...Teardown/1654/1 (I only needed to perform the first few steps) and

I removed the camera, rubbed the connectors on my nose, put it back in, and put every back together again. Hey, presto! The CAMERA IS NOW WORKING! It was probably a loose connection that became loose when the unit was dropped.

Original post: I'm having similar problems with my camera too. Had CM7.1.0 since it's launch but yesterday the camera FC. I wiped the phone, wiped Dalvik, reinstalled CM7.1.0, fixed permissions and the camera still doesn't work. It worked before but not since yesterday suddenly.

I've done a few suggestions here: renamed DCIM. But that didn't work either.

Update 8.12.11: Did a wipe (I did every wipe available in Recovery), formatted the sdcard, reinstall CM7.1.0, fixed permissions with ROM Manager, renamed DCIM and sacrificed 2 doves at the temple altar but the camera still doesn't work. Rats.

I see you are running Amon_RA. If so, there isn't any way to wipe "everything" on there, because there is no option to wipe the /system partition. Go to http://mediafire.com/temasek and find his system-only format flashable zip. It will wipe the system partition for you. Then just reinstall CM and gapps and see if your problem goes away. This should not cause any data loss.

I finally been able to fix it by formatting the SD card through the USB.

I got my camera working (see post #21). It turned out to be a loose connector (but I am not sure which one).
