Hi guys,

I just ran into this problem in the last few days.  Got a call from work and decided to turn on the data so I can send a quick email and noticed that the phone 3g icon never showed up.  After rebooting a few times and turning on and off the feature, nothing.  I've read a few people having this issue with CM 7.1 and I was wondering if anyone has ran into this and if so, if there is a fix...

Thanks again!

Try toggling the "airplane " mode.

Wipe your system partition through recovery and reinstall CM and gapps. If that doesn't work, you may want to try for a full wipe and reset of the device. You can back up your apps and app data with a program like Titanium Backup, but I would make sure that you don't restore any system settings as that could bring back your problem.

I doubt upgrading the radio to 5.12 would fix it.

I can't seem to get any data even after a wipe.  Any ideas why after a wipe why this would still happen?  I did the following:
  • Select the option to Wipe data/factory reset.
  • Then select the option to Wipe cache partition.
  • Select Install zip from sdcard.
  • Select Choose zip from sdcard.
  • Select the CyanogenMod update.zip. Optional: Install the Google Apps by performing steps 7 - 9 again and choosing the Google Apps update.zip.

Make sure you wipe /system as well. It is done through the mounts and storage menu in recovery.
