I'm wondering if there is a performance difference between the latest versions of Cyanogen 5.x and Cyanogen 6.x on the HTC dream. I know my phone is not the newest or the best on the block. I'm just looking to be able to run some basic apps along with the geeky *nix like stuff like busybox and sshd. I remember reading that upgrading will allow you to have more apps installed, because you can store some on the SD card, instead of limited internal memory.

I've looked through the app store and some apps that I am interested in require at least 2.0 to run. I have only found a few that require 2.2.  Of those apps I have found many alternative apps that will work on 2.1

I've read (can't remember where) that Android 2.2 is too taxing for the HTC Dream in terms of available memory and processing power.

So have any of you noticed a real world difference between 5 and 6?

From my experience, my mt3g works better with cm6 than cm5, and if you give a shoot to http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=882356

you'd get better results
