I think this xda's thread is the main for the i9000's CM9: [ROM][ICS][ITL41D] teamhacksung's ICS Port for Galaxy S (BUILD 8).

Bye.

I have tried teamhacksungs rom (build 12) and can report that its stable enough and fast! A few features still don't work however its very usable with good battery. You can download it from Jigen74's link above and when downloaded flash it via clockwork but remember to do a factory data reset first and wipe the cache partition first.

I've been using build 13, just going to build 14 now. Build 13 was great, very few problems, I've been using it as an everyday rom.

I've been using TeamHacksungs ICS Port since Build 9 & i am totally loving it!
Latest Build is number 14 & it's so great in terms of feeling, stability & speed... better than any GB ROM I installed throughout the last years!
In my opinion it's definitely ready for everyday use, but judge for yourself!

I used this ics port up to build nine then went back to stock gingerbread 2.3.5. Just installed build 14 and it looks and feels amazing... incredibly smooth with very few [noticable] bugs. I think it is much better than the stock gingerbread rom I had been using previously. Touchwiz makes the phone slower than it should be imo.

What I would like to know now is that we are on build 14 of this ics port.... when will it officially become cm9 with all the cm features??

So since today Build 15 is out....
Now it's called CM9 Alpha & is Named RC0 ... so I think we're getting closer to the nightly builds!

& I have to admit that Build 15 is again a extremely big step forward! Never had any ROM this perfect on my GT-I9000!

I have to agree.
I just had a clean install with Build 15 and it's the best rom I ever used! (Tried stock, darkys, cm7 rom before)

This sounds pretty good. BTW has anyone tried Bluetooth PAN (for internet connection sharing via BT)? I`ve never seen any info about if, so I suppose it does not work, but anyway...

Thanks for the answer.

... come on, is this true ?  I saw what "doesnt work" in that build and frankly im not tempted to jump from CM7 to CM9 yet... Swear to me it's better than CM7 then i will reevaluate my scepticism ;) (fair enough, what is better or worse is in the eye of the beholder...quite a subjective matter). But you really feel that CM9 Build15 runs and has less bugs than say CM7 Nightly 181 ? Im sorry for so many questions but i was tempted a few weeks ago but then i just said to myself "not yet...". Besides CM7 runs fine for me...dont wanna set it up again (yes yes, nandroid backup...still is a pain to restore all that sometimes)

Oh btw, does the CM9 have that neat "3g data bandwith limit" thingie working ? I loved that concept in ICS... you can control the ammount of data your apps use, right? Oh and do you think the CM9 camera app is ready for "daily use" ?

cheers ;)

Personally I think its the best I've used.  There are a few bugs around but none that impact me personally (anymore).  My favorite feature is the hardware acceleration though, it makes a huge impact on the UI.  I've been using it since build 1 and putting up with all the bugs just because I love the feel of it.  (I remember uninstalling build 2 because the bugs were getting to me, using CM7 for about an hour and saying "f.it, I'll put up with the bugs.  I need my buttery-smooth".)

I have no problems with the camera app but I'm not a fan of scene modes anyways.  I also don't have a problem flipping between CM7 and CM9, as long as you recognize that when you flip you have to run the install .zip file for whatever version you're going to  so the proper kernel is installed before you restore your nandroid backup.

And yes the data bandwidth limit is working, but it is for your phone and not individual apps afaik.

Edit:
To clarify my proceedure for going from CM9 to CM7 (or vice versa):
1) Run the CM7 Nightly 181.zip file from CW recovery (or CM9 .zip if I'm going back to CM9)
2) Turn off the phone
3) Boot the phone into recovery
4) Restore the appropriate CM7 backup

Edit 2:
Occasionally when restoring CM9 I have had the error "Unable to mount data" and the backup fails.  Restarting CW Recovery and re-running the restore has worked the second time every time so far :)

Yes, until now there are a few placeholders for later added functionality (don't try the option where you can disable the bootanimation, some Users have reported getting Bootloops afterwards!)

hm, I didn't experience any bugs at all so far, so I'd say yes! But there are not all options available yet which you have in Cm7, so for example you can't turn the Display by 180°, but otherwise for example the notificationbar powerwidget is there etc! So for me, it's very ready for everyday use!

Yes it's there & it's working, additionally you can also slow down HSDPA to only 3G if you want...
& The Camera is indeed ready for daily use, the only feature I'm missing is the option to select whether you save the images to the external sd card or to the build in one...

Hi mates.
i installed the CM9 Alpha (Build 16) recently on my Galaxy S.
Evrything fine until now, except the haptic feedback. I disabled it in the settings but when writing in the browser, message or other the phone keeps vibrating. This setting only disabled the haptic feedback when pushing on one of the bottom touchbuttons.

Is there another option to disable that or is it buggy?
