I have a Motorola Droid, and I recently switched it from the stock firmware to CM 6.1.2 by doing a wipe and install. Now, the Wifi works and I can browse and download apps somewhat, but when I try to send more than a few MB over the Wifi, the wifi basically dies. This happens by downloading market apps, and I can also reproduce it by using an iperf application. The Wifi indicator on the phone always stays active, but then anywhere I browse to shows "Web page not available", the market shows "Network error", and I can no longer ping the phone from my computer as I could before.

The phone actually still shows up in my router's list of active devices, it is simply not responsive over the Wifi.

As I said, the wifi icon on the phone never goes away, but it does not appear to change the signal as I walk around the house, once this strange wifi state is entered. If I go into the phone's WiFi settings, where it shows the available networks, then the WiFi icon does update to reflect the actual signal strength. So the Wifi radio is functioning, its just not communicating properly.

In order to "fix" this I need to disable and then reenable the Wifi. Of course, doing this only works for a time as the next time it transfers a largish amount of data the connection will go back into this state.

I have looked through the syslog but I have not seen anything notable.

My wife has an identical Droid with the stock firmware and this does not have the problem, so it appears to be something unique to CM.

Has anyone seen this before or could point me to how to figure out what is going on? Thanks.
