So I used rEVOlutionary to unlock my fone, then installed Rom Manager, then flashed the lastest ClockWork Mod Recovery, then used it to download and install Cyanogenmod.

Now it won't boot. On turning it on it first for about a minute showed a circle arrow going around a blue android bot. Now it's just playing the same animation over and over again:

a blue bot skating in , then an arrow goes around it, then the animation freezes and starts over.

what's wrong? how do i get CM to work?

bad ROM flash.

Go back to recovery
Wipe Cache, dalvik and such (look for the standard install instructions)

Try again.

What you are experiencing a 'boot loop' try looking for more help using that phrase to search

and you cleared the caches? that's generally what messes up something. Yes I've OTA downloaded a corrupt ROM but 9 times out of 10 forgetting to clear out all lingering info causes all the issues

In recovery, factory reset, wipe cache, install cm from zip.

Sent from my Incredible 2 with CyanogenMod

Do a checksum check on the rom u downloaded its probably corrupted. Download another and do a full wipe and fresh install

I had the same issue, then went in Clockworm Recovery, did "factory reset/clean" then rebooted and Mod 7 booted just fine!
Note: just cleaning "Davlick cache" and the other cache did not do the job

If you're installing CM from another ROM, it's almost imperative to do a complete factory reset beforehand. In fact, I think a lot of people even recommend it from going from a nightly to a stable, or from one stable (say 7.0) to a new one, 7.1

On another note, I think most people prefer Amon RA for Recovery, as we've seen it be more stable, but that part's up to you, and debatable I guess. But the other is really not. A dalvik and cache wipe won't suffice if adding CM from some other build.
