Is there a chance of CM7/9 for Motorola Atrix 2? Is there work going on on that phone at all? What are the hurdles?

The Atrix 2 would need to be handled as a seperate project and possibly by a seperate team.

Motorola switched from the Nvidia Tegra 250 AP20H chip (Atrix 4G) to a TI OMAP 4430 (Atrix 2) so it's an entirely different phone. There don't appear to be any custom ROMs yet on XDA, and it's still a relatively new phone (only just had the bootloader unlocked last month).

ja450n,,, where did you read that ATRIX 2 has had bootloader unlock? I have been looking for it, googled, searched everywhere but still couldn't find, can you please point me in right direction?

Atrix 2 is a darn good phone. I am not sure why its not more popular. I wish more people had this phone and more devs could give it some love. It looks like Samsung and HTC have better support for cyanogenmod.

Gentlemen:

I got this phone, Atrix 2, for Christmas.  I am certainly a noobie to Android.  I've rooted.  Love the phone in relation to my former Iphone.  Do I get to try a modded rom soon?  Any advice?

Your best bet is to find the "ADT selfKANGish Builds" thread on XDA if you want to watch turl. Those edits will slowly work their way upstream until we have official builds.

i own this phone and im very active in flashing and such, and i can tell you the bootloader definitely is not unlocked. you have to use a bootstrap apk to flash any of the roms that are out (which is about 6 roms) or any themes for them. there are no custom kernels because of the locked bootloader, but the possibility of an "app" i believe that may be coming out that is going to bypass the locked bootloader to alow the flashing of custom kernels wich will mean a great chance of new roms based of other phones and or an official cm9 or other ics rom before motorola puts an update out. (all roms out now are pretty much themed or tweaked versions of the official 2.3.6 motorola update because of....you guessed it....locked bootloader) um....hope this cleared so things up.

I have an atrix 2 but seriously still no Ice Cream Sandwhich? The phone is more then capable of running it. Any new updates on CM9 as a possibility on the Atrix 2?
