My brother has just switched over from the WinMo (booo! hisssss!) HTC Pure to a Motorola Atrix. Since I'm all gung-ho about Cyanogen with my G2, I offered to root and flash my Bro's Atrix. Seems there isn't really a whole lot on the Web about CM7 and the Atrix. A few nightly builds on here, but no discussions??

How has CM7 been running on the Atrix, and serious issues? Any comments? Anyone awake in here? lol

I'll update this post once task-completed.

WOOT ROOT!

UPDATE- ok so it worked. CM7 is running nicely. Now to find a custom kernel that will allow overclocking!!!

The current build most people are using is the newest weekly (#4, Dec 10) available in the downloads at http://code.google.c...atrix-dev-team/

The phone runs perfectly fine as a daily driver for most, and I suggest leaving the stock kernel and clocks. Battery life is decent without overclocking, and the added heat and or instability that varies from phone to phone when overclocking is not something I'd put your sibling through, so I'd leave that for your own devices personally.

On that note, the HTC pure was a fun little phone, and it had rudimentary android builds when I owned one. Apart from that, WinMo wasn't terrible when you had a nice rom in place, but I enjoy android a lot more. Have fun with this phone and CM7.

This may go without saying, but don't forget to unlock the bootloader!

I'd suggest reading the instructions carefully.  Just as a true unlock (i.e. good flash of unlock SBF) will give your phone new life, a false one will take it away....

The overclock had a Quadrant score of 4036... double what my G2 does! lol. One think I'm curious about, though: Quadrant as well as a couple other system info apps list the cpu core as singe (1). Since it's a dual core phone, does that mean that its only hyperthreaded and doesn't have two physical cores?

ps- Idk how you can follow my posts.

Yeah, lol... I realized that after rooting. :)

I rooted about two weeks ago but was just able to get CM7 running. I also flashed my first nightly last night. I am hooked.
