is it possible for the touchpad to identify itself to android market as another device? i was thinking about this today when i tried to install dead space and it didnt work, i think because it doesnt recognize the touchpad as an android device. maybe we could get the market to think our touchpads are galaxy tab 10.1's or some other tablet (since the touchpad is a tablet). can it be done?

mmm i dont know if i've understood ... to allow Adrenaline HD working on my TP i've edited the .prop file in system folder (not in SD card), if you scroll this file, you can find a line that says "device name" and another with "device brand" ... some like this, and i changed name to "GT-I9100" (the galaxy s2) and to the brand to "samsung" ... saved the file and reboot ... this allowed me to play Adrenaline HD on my TP (i had this job with root explorer)

try

Great tip! Worked for me. I used RootBrowser though. It was free and did the same job. allowed me to download and install some Gameloft games from the market.

Found the first ".prop" file under "system"  Edited the files then saved and rebooted.  Happy nerd

no, but its close. 1024x768 (Touchpad) vs. 1280x800 (Galaxy Tab 10.1). Any honeycomb tablet would do though.

you cant download honeycomb optimized apps from market, cause you're running gingerbread on your TP ^^ editing the brand and the name of your device allow you to run app that are built for devices have different specs, just this

This does seem to work to some extent.  I picked up Modern Combat 3 for $.99 today only to get the dreaded "Not compatible with you device" message.  I made the modifications to the build.prop file as described and all is well - the game plays great.  On the other hand - I had picked up BackStab HD a few weeks ago for $.10 during the sales and while this mod gets me past the first screen and downloads the resource files, the game locks up trying to get to the main menu - likely some other issue.  Already have Nova 2 and Assasin's Creed HD for $.99 running fine under Webos so didn't test those.

Nice find - I picked these and other apps up when they were on sale with the expectation that workarounds/fixes would come out and it looks like that is so.

Gonna play around with changing the model to a few other tablets that run Gingerbread and have a 1024x768 screen like the Vizio VTAB1008 (only an 8 inch screen but the resolution is right) and see what that does.

I wonder if companies like Gameloft will officially support the TP once an official CM ICS release is available?
