Hello all,
I installed Cyanogenmod 7.1 on my N1. This is the first time I do this kind of stuff (root/flashing/changing roms). I've been experiencing some problems and I'd like your help to solve it.
1) Can't sign-in in my Google account. Error message: "unable to connect to server".
2) Wi-fi icon on the top doesn't get green at all.
3) The connection with my carrier that should be 3g is now only H and gray not green.
Problems 1 and 2 are solved going back to stock 2.3.6.
Does anybody knows how to fix those issues?
Thanks,
tcobu

I tried CM7 about 6 months ago, but after a while it got so unstable that I flashed back to stock ROM. Once again, the stock ROM and its freaking storage leak forced me to reflash, so I decided to give CM one more try. What a nightmare! 7.1 is far worse than 7.0 was. If this is what they call "stable", I'd really hate to see what they call "unstable". Literally nothing works, and everything FCs. It won't even play my added ringtones without crashing. I keep having to pull the battery to reboot because it's constantly locking up completely, often from a clean boot without me even touching the phone. And what's with all the bloatware? On a Nexus One, the whole point of getting a custom ROM is to get more space, because the stock ROM includes too many useless apps and leaves room for only a handful. So what does CM do? They put a whole bunch of stupid wallpaper, a totally unnecessary and resource-hogging launcher, and many more apps that nobody needs to be included on the ROM. For god's sake, people, leave the apps out! Make them available for people to install as needed, don't force them to carry around all that bloatware just because you think it's cool!
So I guess it's back to stock ROM, and I'll just have to settle for reflashing it every 6 months. The direction they're heading, I'm not even going to attempt ICS when it comes out for the N1. (And shame on Google for not doing it themselves - they're lying if they say there's a technical reason.)
Better yet, time for a new phone. One that actually has a combination of features that actually makes sense: both adequate internal memory AND an SD slot. WTF does Google think that it's either/or? The Nexus phones have progressively become both less cutting-edge and less desirable. The S would have been okay if it had an SD slot, but the Galaxy is worthless. Sure, it has a larger 720p screen, but in every other way it's FAR behind other phones that have been out for many months, and some other phones have significantly better screens, 1080p even.
It's almost enough to make me defect to Apple, as horrid as that thought is...

Hey. I'm in the same situation like you an I had the same problem with no connectivity. It solved itself when I disabled Wifi and enabled it again. Don't know if that's gonna work for you.As of #3: H is faster than 3G. Nexus One didn't distinguished between H and 3G.It's G, a bundled G is E, followed by 3G and a bundled 3G is H.

Check your radio version. For cm7.1 you need the 5.08 or 5.12 version.

hi cm team. I'm new to android system. i have unlocked bootloader and root my phone and then flashed cwm v5.0.2.0 via fastboot cmd, but it seem i can not install or apply update.zip file via this custom recovery due to error: can not mound sd card. then i just install the rom manager and flashed to CM7.1 stable rom ( i went from stock 2.3.6) after flashing with this new roms my 3g and wifi work not properly due to it alway disconnect. *noted: i have factory reset and wiped everything(wiped cash, partition.., but i haven't formated system due to i can not install zip file of mount usb via this cwm). thank in advance for any advices.
