Not usually but it wouldn't do any harm. #181 is much more stable than the stable version anyway imho

Since i'm asking, what new features or major bug fixes has 181 over Stable?

thanks

I can't remember bud. Stable came out around build #141 from memory and there has been 40 updates (if you like) since stable was released....

Another question to this. Can I delete the stable zip file of CM 7.1 from my internal SD card when doing this and replacing with the nightly?

Newbie here. Judging from above posts, I can just apply the nightly build zip from ROM Manager or ClockworkMod without wiping cache or dalvick. Will all the apps I have installed and the various settings configurations be maintained or am I looking at re-installing and re-configuring the settings?

Thanks!

I did a Nandroid backup and proceeded to wipe cache and dalvik cache before flashing nightly build 181. Mostly, things went smoothly, just a handful of settings had to be reconfigured but that was it.

I updated to nightly 181 based on what I read here about how it offers better battery life. I'm not sure that's the case at the moment, but will give it a few days to settle down. I can say, however, that installing and updating apps on Market (Play) seems slower than when I was using the stable 7.1 release.

If battery life doesn't improve, might restore phone back to 7.1 stable release.

P.S. Bought the Momax 2700 mAh large capacity battery today :D
