for the person who is having issues accessing tp via USB you've likely not enabled mtp access same mistake I made its hidden away a bit in the menus.
Settings > Storage > (Press Menu Button in top right) > USB Computer connection > Tick "Media Device" (MTP) .
Now try it again it will appear as device in windows rather than an external drive like in cm7 but you can still transfer files to and from the tp using this method , its because ICS doesn't use UMS for internal memory anymore from what I've read.

I'm still getting used to ICS (very nice improvements from honeycomb), so anyone know how to tell if tablet is in Sleep Mode or even how to put it into Sleep Mode (that is if assuming power button press doesn't do it already).
CM team... keep up the great work! I can't begin to comprehend the effort to support the full assortment of devices in the portfolio.

Silly question, but how do you unmount from MTP? I tried unticking the box for MTP under settings but it doesn't work. I can only swap from MTP to PTP, but neither can be unchecked entirely.
I just ended up unplugging my USB cord from the Touchpad.

Hi ,
as you mentioned i dont think the Touchpad gives you the option to unmount nor does Windows allow you to disconnect .
i think youre pretty safe to just unplug the USB cable in all honesty but dont hold me to that if something goes wrong as im only talking from my experience .
in WebOS even when i Disconnect USB storage safely after using it as a Removable Disk it just sits on the USB mode screen pretty much indeffinetly which is annoying , which then forces me to Unplug the cable before it will get me out that mode and back onto the desktop which each moans at me , something along the line's of
"OWCH that hurts , next time please disconnect me properly before unplugging the USB Cable" kind of furstrating when you know you have , but there ya go .
if anyone else has input on this as to why you Cant Disconnect/Eject/Remove device safely in MTP mode im all ear's but I imagine its something to do with the Way the PC mounts a Device when in MTP mode that doesnt require you to have to Safely remove it .

I had this issue too. In WebOS to not get that error, you actually bring up your Windows explorer on the computer and right click the drive that the touchpad was assigned, right click and select 'Eject'. After a few seconds your Touchpad will show the WebOS screen again.
You don't do it under the USB taskbar icon.

I don't have a pass code or pin on my TouchPad. What am I supposed to enter here??? Please someone HELP ME so I can have my TouchPad back! Thanks and hope someone can help me SOON! I don't want to wipe the data as I don't want to loose all my apps and games I put on there when I had 7. Is there anything else I can do??? I am anxious to try Cyanogen 9 after hearing so many GOOD things about it! THANKS DEVELOPERS!

Thanks for answering me back BR. I haven't seen anything drastically bad happen to my TP since just plain unplugging the USB cord from the PC. So I'd like to say that it may be safe to do it, YMMV in the disclaimers as usual.

I'm not very versed in MTP (think my old Sony Walkman mp3 player utilized something like that) but I'd like to add a +1. Would be great if we could be given some info about this too.

Question:
When I plug any speakers into the headphone jack I get no sound.
Is this a known issue, or is it just me?

Yup happens to me aswell , Unplug and replug headphones + closing any app's that use sounds usually fixes it , found it did it to me when i had PlayerPro open in the Background whilst trying to watch an AVI file. there are known Audio issue's at the moment and this is 1 of them i believe along with poor quality(Crackling) when locking screen or playing sound at high volumes .
just try , Unplugging and Replugging them in and Play/Pause your Song and or Video it usually catches up just sometimes the TP doesnt register you have anything plugged in , failing that try a reboot and see if it does it again .
Make sure your headphone's arent meant for a Phone AKA a Headset (E.g. has 3 seperators on the jack instead of 2)
i had one's plugged in from my Desire that have an extra seperator on the jack for the Microphone/ Volume up and down and obviously their not made for the TP and because of this sound only played through 1 headphone , just trying to cover general issues for you to diagnose .
let me know how you get on
Thanks BR .

I know you dont have a PIN / Passcode on your Old CM7 Gingerbread build (Presumingly?) but do you have a passcode setup in WebOS by any chance ?
i have one in WebOS but not ICS (Alpha 0.6) but upon first install it did ask me for my passcode , which like you i wasnt aware i had but i typed in my code from WebOS and it accepted this , then i turned it off in setting's .
Thanks BR .
